Seems unlikely that he'd single out so many players that didn't even feature in the defeat at Arsenal.

And even if he did, how would "you bought us" be a good answer to being questioned of a lack of commitment?

I think matters are being blown way out of proportion. We're 5th. We have the 5th best squad in the league. I don't see where this sudden crisis has come from after losing two games. The momentum is lost but there are 8 games left in this season. There is plenty to play for.

Probably because they were the two most important games of the season, for differing reasons.
One to cement our position as favorites to qualify in the CL spots.
The other to maintain our chances of qualification.

We failed miserably in both......the only thing we cemented is the idea that we are bottlers.

Brendan Rodgers says he has not conceded a Champions League spot and Liverpool can still finish in the top four, despite the deficit that has grown to the Premier League leaders.

Rodgers admits Liverpool are unlikely to catch Manchester City, Manchester United or Arsenal, but he insisted that his players would fight until the last game in the hope of others losing points.

“After the game I gave an answer that was logical but it is not a mindset or an attitude. It was purely mathematics,” said Rodgers.

“We would have to win our seven games. We want to win every game we play in. that’s always the objective. And now we want the second semi final of the season.”

Liverpool face Blackburn in their FA Cup quarter-final replay on Wednesday, a game of extra significance given their league position.

“Winning a trophy would be a step forward for us. It is something we want to do as a group,” said Rodgers.

“Blackburn have some excellent players but we will go there after the weekend disappointment determined to get a result.

“It’s Important to have that game quickly after losing. We have not put ourselves in a good position having worked hard to get there before the Manchester United game, but if you don’t perform against top quality squads you can lose. The group is committed to winning this trophy but Blackburn will be tough for us.”

Rodgers, meanwhile, shrugged off any suggestion he has held a ‘crisis’ meeting with his players following back-to-back defeats, including a 1-4 reverse at Arsenal on Saturday. He said the Liverpool squad assembles after all fixtures, win or lose, to assess performances.

“We have lots of meetings in term of analysing things. No different to a host of meetings,” said Rodgers.

“Those are the same meetings which allowed us to recover from bad start. So the last meeting was nothing – just analysing the performance and where we’re at and what the objectives are - there are seven games to go and an FA Cup quarter-final. It is just unfortunate something else was made of it.

“I have a great bunch of players who work tirelessly and give me everything. We might be short in certain elements but in terms of commitment and work ethic, that’s been pretty clear since I have been here.”

Yet Rodgers will still weekly come out with variants of "Liverpool football club are a great club, one of the very best" to try and butter up the fans to try and make up for the fact no cunt wants to play for us.

After those results I imagine that there is alot of frustration around the dressing room/training ground. The 2 straight defeats to top 4 rivals have almost certainly cost us a CL place, and the players and manager are upset. This is a time where we need to figure out which people are pulling in the same direction and are working for the good of the club and which players are holding us back.

Last season we had a fairly small squad; there were about 14 players who were regularly involved, this season the squad has got significantly bigger, there are more players around but many aren't contributing anywhere near enough. To be brutally honest last summer's transfer window was a disaster, Lallana (25m), Markovic (20m), Lovren (20m), Balotelli (16m), that's £80m worth of players that have barely made an impact, Lallana and Markovic have shown signs of promise, and have been held back by injury to some extent but I still don't know if we have found a role for them in the side. Lovren and Balotelli have been disasterous signings, I don't see a future for either of them here and I see even less chance of us breaking even on them. Moreno has been ok, but is prone to errors, and Can had been a good signing, albeit he has been played out of position. Lambert was always going to be a back up or a plan b, but given his lack of game time despite an injury crisis up front, it makes you wonder what out was going through the heads of the transfer committee/scouting system when we signed him. The problem is with transfers we don't know who is responsible, Rodgers has a say, but seemingly other people have as much of a say. Given what was said in the summer, I imagine if Rodgers had the final say Balotelli for one wouldn't be here.

For me the next season is make or break for Rodgers he needs to prove that he is the one responsible for moving the club forward and last season's success wasn't just down to the ability of Suarez. Off the pitch the club hierarcy needs to get their **** together in terms of sorting out the futures of players, while the Sterling situation is probably due to his agent, there are other contract issues that are a problem on the clubs side, the Henderson situation should never have been allowed to get this far and Gerrard's comments about his situation give some cause for concern.

I see a few people have gone full circle now and we're back to Rodgers out. All we need is Sab back now and we'll be in business.

Presume we beat Blackburn and finish 5th so this season we achieved 5th in the PL (behind 4 side with bigger resources than us) and reached the semi finals if both cups (worst case, we might even beat Villa, reach the final and you know, win it yet)

So, 5th in PL and semi finalists in both cups, would some still want Rodgers out and if so who on earth do you/they think could do significantly better?
