He'll probably have a working holiday anyway.......like he had for the World Cup.

Though that was just heading over for the Final. Nice.

Might take in the Copa America Final this year, though he might not be inviting Colin and Mike.

Rodgers is a complete enigma to me.

We played the most exciting and attacking football I've seen during the 2013/14 season since John Barnes and Peter Beardsley were new signings at the start of the 1987/88 season.

Then came this season where we've generally played awful football with players being played out of position and midfielders playing as emergency strikers. Even during the purple patch (results wise) from December to March we didn't play particularly good, entertaining football.

So which Rodgers will show up at the start of next season?

I doubt anyone on this forum has any idea. I certainly don't

One thing is certain though... his interviews both pre-match and post match will be full of the usual drivel he always comes out with so they are best avoided and ignored.

Totally, i avoid watching him speak now tbh, i just cannot help it but i find his patter a bit like that of a snake oil salesman.

Needless to say though, my 'snake oil salesman' experience is limited to old John Wayne movies.

But any manager who is not winning people start to hate there style of chat ... when the results are going well people are too busy counting future points and looking forward to games ... start to lose and that after game chat starts the grate ... the players gave me everything .... Yeah did they .. how about they give you some ****ing goals as well you smily ******* can be heard up and down the land ... 4 wins on the bounce and hatful of goals later ... My Players gave me everything ..... He's right you know, "we" were ace out there today ... ; )

That's the problem, to some extent I think we did so well last season because we had a small squad (basically the same team every week) and we were able to find a system that worked for them quickly. This season the extra players mean that the team has changed most weeks either in players or tactics, to some extent I think there are too many things to change, and it's much more difficult to stumble upon the right formula.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We had Suarez and a fit enough Sturridge last season. I saw enough this season to suggest Rodgers impact on last season was vastly overstated IMO.

I hated Rodgers presentation from the start to be honest. I have though been really impressed by how he has become more pragmatic and changed things when they were broken and revitalised players he had seemingly rejected. That has to be balanced though by the mistakes made tactically and in transfers.

Hopefully his holiday gives him a chance to reassess and come up with a plan that can be successfully implemented consistently across a season rather than relying on individuals (which I think his diamond season before last and back 3 based teams this year tended to do). I guess a big unknown at the minute is who he has alongside him to do that.

I think al things considered he has handled a number of very testing ongoing situations very well considering he is touted as a so called inexperienced manager. What people have to remember is he coaches a mixture of kids and young men in a sports team for a job .... anybody who has ever met or been trained my a coach of any description knows they are all full of motivational bull**** ... it goes with the territory for the most part .... I think his handling of Suarez for example was immeasurably better than the so called more experienced Kenny, the title run of last season ( the real last season just did not happen ok .. lets all agree to wipe it form our memory) he managed the press with that very well ..... Give the man a couple of decent Strikers and this team is not half bad at all and we are in the mix for top 4, people need to calm down

His biggest test will be turning around the fanbase, because most people want him gone. If he gets off to anything but a flier, then it's going to be nasty, which is a proper shame given he's seems a decent man doing a very difficult job.

It'll be interesting to see the Premier League fixtures and how the first few games fall. We're supposed to be away for the first game at least for the work on the stand - imagine Stoke away up first. Could be a great way to start off with a convincing win to put that debacle to bed, could be a sackable offence one game in!

(I think he should have gone for being in charge of a Liverpool team that lost 6-1 tbh)

Imagine if Migs is injured and Bogdan saves a penalty...

His season depends on the quality of players brought in.

I am of the opinion that we have a load of players I'd be more than happy to have in the squad, but not enough players that I'd be selecting for a strong XI to play in a cup final.

I think the players that come in on a free have addressed any serious issues we had with regards depth, now it's about adding some serious quality. Particularly as before long we will be letting one of our better players go.
                                Forwards.......
