    No chance

He has zero width which is needed to play either 4-3-3 / 4-2-3-1, he also needs to have quicker players as people have mentioned

Even if you say the width will come from the fullbacks he only has Clyne offerring that at the minute because hes too worried about putting Gomez on to babysit Lovren

Hes at least 3 or 4 players short imo and thats being nice

      I'd say 6 or 7
Liverpool, always in perpetual jigsaw problem solving

      Actually, I take that back.
If you had a coach with a clear vision of what's needed on the pitch and how to play, then we are 3 players short. If "the man who can't be mentioned" can win big ears with the players that he had, then any half decent coach could get top4 with this squad.

Keep the faith with Lallana. Give him till Christmas. He's been **** so far but the season is young.

I kinda like the look of the bottom one as an alternative strategy.

          But would go

          --Clyne--Skittles--Sakho
          ----------Lucas
          ----Can--Milner--Hendo
          --------Coutinho
          ----Sturridge--Firmino

as that gives Can some grass to charge across.

This multi-formation confusion is what happens when you load a squad with players who can fill more than one spot. Maybe there is something to be said for having no options after all!

Agreed, but I picked my words carefully

All players either not good enough or so far not to make an impression on the first team

Harry Redknapp has claimed Liverpool are “bang average” and “the worst Reds team I have seen in years”.

The former Spurs boss also reckoned the Reds are lucky to have any points this season and will struggle to finish in the top five.

And in a scathing attack, Redknapp claimed Brendan Rogers lacked class for not admitting Christian Benteke's goals was offside against Bournemouth.

Liverpool suffered a humiliating 3-0 home defeat to West Ham at the weekend after winning their first two games and drawing at Arsenal.

But Redknapp reckons the club is still suffering from the departures of Jamie Carragher and Stevie Gerrard.

“I don’t fancy Liverpool at all,” he said at the Telegraph Total Football Live event, in association with Virgin Media.

“I think it’s the worst Liverpool team I have seen in years. They look bang average. They are lucky to have any points.

“Bournemouth should have beaten them, they got a wonder goal at Stoke. OK, they played all right first-half at Arsenal.

"I think they will do well to finish in the top five. I am not with Liverpool at all this year. Having said that they will probably win the league!

“They lost Steven Gerrard, their leader. What a player. They lost Jamie Carragher the year before. They’ve lost their characters.

“Look at the two centre-halves on Saturday (Dejan Lovren and Martin Skrtel). The left-back (Joe Gomez) is a good young player who can’t kick with his left foot but he is playing at left-back.

"He’s a fantastic talent, strong, quick. But what will he give you on the left? He is on the wrong side. They look a badly balanced team to me. Sorry, I can’t have Liverpool.

“I love Liverpool Football Club, and if you said to me which team would I have loved to manage in this country it would be Liverpool - but I can’t see it this year.”

Benteke's winning goal against Bournemouth was allowed to stand despite Philippe Coutinho being offside.

Redknapp added: “He (Rodgers) comes on TV and they said, ‘What about the offside goal?’ and he said, ‘I haven’t seen it yet’.

“Can’t he say, ‘Yeah, it was offside but they even out’. These managers, you know? I’m glad I’m not one!”

That one for me, but I'd rather see Firmino behind the striker, Milner playing where Lucas is and Coutinho playing deeper

Can is a sub for me, at all times.
Definitely that front 5, and with Allen, Can, Firmino, Lallana, Ibe, Ings and Origi as understudies we'd have strength in depth too. We could get back to hammering teams again! Beats wasting Milner and Henderson by playing them too deep, and only having a couple of shots on goal a game anyway...

He's wrong about playing Gomez on the left - it didn't do Carra any harm to have a spell at left-back, and Gomez looked good there for three games until he was asked to play a more attacking role last Saturday and showed he couldn't do it (and was at fault for the first goal). The "lack of balance" is easily solved by putting Moreno there. And when Rodgers was interviewed straight after the game he probably hadn't seen the offside goal again, I didn't know whether it was definitely offside myself until I saw it again in the pub afterwards.

He's right about our general performances - we could easily have lost to Bournemouth, and we did rely on a wonder goal at Stoke. You could say the same about most teams though - there's only really City who look like they've hit the ground running out of the main contenders for top 6.

He's right about us losing our leaders too, but players don't go on for ever and you need to replace them at some point. I don't think Gerrard would solve any of our problems if we were able to re-sign him for this season.

That's it for me too. Everybody always puts Coutinho high up the pitch but for me he's much better further back with more players in front of him to pick out those lovely passes he makes. Play him in the midfield and have loads of movement ahead of him. Agree on Can too, don't see where he gets in our best 11. Tough aways maybe have Lucas in there with Milner and Hendo in front and Firmino on the bench.

                            So this.
