Defo. He's a good finisher but Sturridge and Benteke are better. Based on his stint in Germany it appears Firmino will be too when he gets going. So that's the lads I'd want nearest the goal with Hendo and Coutinho supplying the bullets and getting forward themselves too.

He'll be most dangerous in the middle imo, lads to hit ahead of him and is still part of the attack just like Henderson. Those 5 and Milner too are all dangers to opposition teams.
I just think that at the tip of the diamond he can still get involved in the midfield but without doing the donkey work. He can still pull the strings and drop deep from time to time but personally I would much rather him away from the work horse side of things and closer to our forwards and the goal.

Milner would also be very effective at the tip of the diamond, he had an absolutely cracking season for Villa when played there. City bought him off the back of that season.

It nearly won us the league, yet we totally abandoned it because one player left. And it wasn't all about Suarez either, as the system worked well enough during his suspensions and occasional injury. Henderson was arguably more critical for it, as we needed his energy and pressing in midfield for it to work, but we've got Milner in there too now.
agree completely...I was hoping that is how we would set up this season to be honest....with Coutinho at the apex against big teams but against ****e then him dropping into the two in midfield (with either Jordan or jimmy playing DM)

The only time we played half decent last season was away at spurs....with Sturridge and mario up top in a diamond formation...

It's almost like Brendan wants to reinvent football or something....

Coutinho said at the very start of last season that Rodgers was showing him videos and to play as a No.8 (deeper than the No.10).

With that in mind, and Henderson sitting deeper, we can still play the diamond and use Ings more often.

I agree. If the diamond is how we are going when Sturridge is back I have no idea why we haven't been playing it already with Ings or Origi.

Last season we had a worse squad, but other than that I agree with him.

**** squad and a **** manager- and we are lucky to have any points this season

Hmm, and what does he think of Fergie time, and Fergie refereeing decisions, and lucky Macheda scuffed goals? So by his logic Fergie is not his selected best all time manager now all of a sudden?

                          Grumpy old man innit.

I think he wanted to dumb down WH's 3-0 win at Anfield tbh.
