Thanjk you.

I think he's a good manager, but I think he's treading a very thin line with us at the moment. Pressure can get at you in funny ways, and I think it might be showing with Brendan at the moment. He's been vying for that balance since his second season here and hasn't been able to achieve it consistently, bar a period of very impressive run of games when we showed that we could become a very special team. Losing Suarez & Sturridge, seems to have set the team back, and we haven't looked as good since. Now he's rebuilding and it's going to take time, and that is something that I fear he doesn't have anymore.
I think in modern football the manager is never too far from the sack. He's been lucky to last this long as one bad season in football is normally the death knell. A bad start following a bad season? He'd need a fairy godmother to keep him in a job.
It's funny. Defeat tomorrow and it's been a disastrous start. Win tomorrow and follow it up with home wins v Norwich & Villa and people will talk us up as title contenders. On such knife edges are jobs kept and lost.
I'd rather see us loose this 5-3 with 2 strikers having a red hot go than whimper to a 1-0 defeat & create nothing.

It's a precarious job! Like someone else said Rodgers didn't start this season with a clean slate. If we lose tomorrow (which is very likely) he'll be under even more pressure than he already is. I think it was more probable that he would be sacked during this season than otherwise unless he exceeded expectations. He's ****ed really.
Agree. I just hate watching a lone striker run around trying to press their defence & having no petrol in the tank to attack. The lone striker route is the death of football IMO.
If you get it right, 433 is more adventurous and attacking than a two striker system. Problem is that if you get it wrong, it can easily become a 451 with no support for your striker.
Rodgers CLEARLY wants to play 433. He is not a negative manager. But it doesn't matter your intent, if you get the balance wrong you isolate the striker. Some people don't like Brendan's bull****. I actually like the man. I think he wants to entertain and I think I like his ideas.
But it really needs to start being showed on the grass as opposed to bring talked about.

He started rebuilding last season Nigey & got the transfers so wrong. Balotelli, Markovic & co were never played to their strengths & that's down to Brendan. He's on borrowed time for sure but that's down to him.

I think we have the squad and players to be a real top side, we just need to gel & get confidence. It's why I see Saturday's game as such a major thing. Every time you watch a game on TV the broadcasters love a big build up, I normally laugh it all off as rubbish.
I think tomorrow's game is that big, even Michael Bay directing a build up full of explosions wouldn't do it justice.

Yeah I see more 451 with an isolated striker being doubled up on so I'd prefer to go back to whatever mutation of a 442 that he wants to employ.

Last season was a disaster but the blame could be directed elsewhere. Yes he can shoulder his fair share, but he had a point if he moaned. That safety net has been pulled away from under him this year. He will live or die as a manger at this club based on the squad he has now built.
I'm in the middle. I think everything sounds great when we are winning and everything is ridiculous when we are losing. I am as fair weather as it comes to backing managers or players.
I can't even watch MOTD when we lose. I just avoid the lot.

Balotelli was ill suited to our game and should never have been bought in the first place. Whether it's down to Rodgers or the transfer committee, we don't really know. I just think that losing Suarez took him by surprise.

We probably would have won the league if we had them both last season, with Sturridge playing a large chunk of the season. They were that important to us. Both of them scored a ridiculous 70 goals between them the season before.

I wouldn't have bet against it.
I almost have to laugh when I remember us going with a diamond with Mario & Fabio up front. Funnily enough the opposition had no qualms with pressing high. It was all the best LFC as opposed to "Luis & Danny?" All the best lads.
