    The balance sheet looks great.
Can't help thinking there's something in the works sale wise.
Whilst as a headline figure, you're not wrong, I don't believe it to be as simple as suggesting that FSG are only providing the manager limited funds. Both Suarez and Sterling were sold at their own choice; it wasn't FSG insisting on their sale to recoup their cash.

Unless you're talking of our net spend this summer and not under FSG as a whole? In which case I think it's great that we're spending within our means.

I think fidget is alluding to the fact FSG are keeping the real money ready for a new manager should they need it in January.

Gotcha. I did start reading the initial post differently as I was typing my response, but I'd started so I was going to finish.

I was of the opinion that we were going to have a reduced war-chest during the stadium development anyway. I think FSG are 87% behind Rodgers.

I didn't expect to roll West Ham over, but I did expect to win. To lose was a real hammer blow, excuse the pun. For me we need to beat United to get back on track. In all honesty a draw wouldn't be the end of the world, but if we end up with 10 from 15 after that game we're looking good for a top 4 challenge & can write off West Ham as a bad day at the office.

The problem with losing to ****e like West Ham is it puts pressure on games where we'd normally be happy with a point. The way we've set up we look better suited to defending quite deep and then hitting on the counter with pressing high up thrown in, then dropping into a solid shape if we don't win it high up. So maybe playing United away will suit us.

Wouldn't surprise me if we beat them. But even if we do, we need to start figuring out how to break down a wall of defenders at Anfield without having to play with fire and get killed on a quick counter.
I'm not sure we can counter teams though

You need pace to do that, not sure we have enough of that at present in the team

People keep saying about our net spend this summer being low, last year it was around £30m and we were in the CL. Given this year it is likely to be around the £20m mark and we aren't in the CL, I would say the two are comparable, I wouldn't say that the owners were holding back money.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Its difficult to say either way until you see what is reflected in the accounts. These are normally released a year or so later by which time its pointless looking back and moaning

exactly, he has no room for ****s ups this season, its all or nothing for Rodgers.

As for Lovren, the old mistakes turned up v west HAm but prior to that I thought he was solid and doing better than last season-though to be fair that's not too hard an achievement.
