I liked Shelvey, but apart from the occasional moment of brilliance he wasn't good enough for us. I suppose he was a bit like Danny Murphy. I think it's the lack of pace in the side that's causing us problems at the moment, the opposition doesn't need to worry about quick attacks. Moreno and Origi have pace, we need to start Origi on Thursday to get him match fit and see if he can take the pressure off us a bit. I think Sterling was a big loss.

Imagine the madness of Newcastle Utd mixed with the bitterness of the blue****e. Thats the Redskins for youOriginally posted by The_weatherman View Post
How could anyone be that mean. I googled them and this came up:
"Redskins continue to make an art form of almost"
So they are effectively the Liverpool of the NFL?

As opposed to the rubbish we have been served up for over 12 months? Shelvey would walk into our current midfield, saying that hes walked through it quite a few times in previous games against Swansea.Originally posted by redmike65 View PostEvery time someone mentions Shelvey as the solution they should put a pound coin in the Stupid Thoughts Jar.Last edited by Leyton388; 14-09-15, 10:16 PM.

@Gareth0Bradley You can't let a manager spend £80m on players he wanted and replace backroom staff and then sack him after 2 defeats.

@Gareth0Bradley he will get the chance to turn it around but he's under real pressure.

@Gareth0Bradley I understand why many want change but I just think having stuck by him in summer FSG can't backtrack so early in season.

@Gareth0Bradley I think it's a very different team with Coutinho, Henderson and Sturridge back in there.

The problem as the thread title suggests is the manager not the player - Liverpools players are not playing like turds as it amuses them to do so while being paid a kings ransom, they do so as they are only following orders. Shelvey is a bit of loose cannon but he'd have ended up doing just the same as Milner and Can and Lucas, all of whom are talented and quite lost in a set up informed by a man who is stumbling around in a fogbound tactical miasma of his own making.

Why are people pinning their hopes on Sturridge? We did that last season and we saw what happened there. We can't be relying on an injury prone player no matter how good he is. This is the reason Agger was sold. As good as he was he couldn't be relayed upon.
What makes people think when struridge is back Rodgers will partner him with Benteke? If Rodgers wanted to play 442 diamond he should be playing it now with Ings so that when Sturridge does return he can slot right in and the team are used to the formation from the off.
He played Ings out wide on Saturday when he's a striker. Makes no sense at all.
