I think he's gone because of the availability of a manager with a far better CV.

But for that i think they'd have stuck with him.

I wonder where Brendan will end up next.

He'd be perfect for Newcastle, but there are some exotic names they could consider - Laudrup, Vieira, Bielsa. If Moyes gets booted from Real Sociedad, then he'd be another (don't mean he's exotic, but just another name in the mix).

I think he needs to take a break and do some travelling. He came from Swansea straight to Liverpool. He has to reflect and recognise the things that worked for him, and those that didn't.

Moyes is not an exotic name.

You slip would matter if we were more defensive?

Just realised what I've done. Edited it now, but you've already quoted it!

I've got a sneaky feeling that Brendan will end up at Spurs one day.
                      Oh I don't know.

I'm not sure Verm. I 100% believe that we would not have got top 4 this season with him in charge, in fact it would have been 7th or 8th. No cups either. That second half against Everton yesterday was just vomit inducing football. It was nauseating how little creativity or ideas we had in an attacking sense.

Ok, so back to point, I'd say we are better off taking a risk on a new manager (even without the CV), even interim, than keeping him in charge. A nothing to lose situation.

To say that all he had to do was to make sure the team didn't let in as many goals in order to win the league was a massive oversimplification to me.

I'm almost interested to see what Ian Wright was saying about us during that season. I'm reasonably sure it wasn't that.

The whole 'it was ALL Suarez' opinion is another massive oversimplification.

Obviously an incredible player and we couldn't have done it without him, but credit to Rodgers for getting way more out of him than his predecessor ever did.

Suarez' pressing and energy was infectious and his mere presence on the pitch lifted everyone around him and as soon as he left everyone's personal performances dipped and we stopped harrying opponents. If the our title challenge had been down to Rodgers coaching then why the terminal decline as soon as Suarez was sold?
Trying to state it was one thing or the other is stupid

We didn't get there despite Rodgers being manager, nor did we get there solely on the exploits of Luis Suarez

Sad he's gone, but glad he's gone
