Given the articles in recent days by the likes of Bascombe and Barrett, the departure seems inevitable now and will be hastened by defeats at United and Arsenal.

Rodgers isn't going anywhere unless we start freefalling towards relegation which wont happen.

We've won 3 games in the last 12 as it says in the article above. I'd say we were teetering on the edge of the helicopter already. The likes of Warnock have got us tactically sussed.

I really hope he pulls the rabbit out of the hat because Dalglish is right. The articles from Barrett and Bascombe look pretty damning and final.

Lallana, Coutinho, Markovic, Can, Morena all cost good money and they should all be playing. If we lose the odd game I dont care, we just need to develop them into the team and let the team grow with them in it. If he doesn't do that then he simply has to leave as he will be holding us back

‘We waited until we were down to 10 men with 20 minutes to go, then threw everything at them.

Why not do it from the start? The way we approached the game was a bit negative.’

Sounds like a pretty fair & accurate assessment to me.
I agree we left it too late v Basle, but i can guarantee it happened all to often under Roy too.

How is he under pressure if he retains the full support of the owners?

Their Champions League exit at the hands of Basle encapsulated everything that has gone wrong with a flawed summer transfer strategy that continues to undermine them at almost every turn. After £215 million of investment since he became manager, Rodgers picked as many players bought by Rafael Benítez as ones he had signed for a must-win tie. Liverpool played the second half without a recognised forward and ended the game with Martin Skrtel, a centre back, up front in the latest departure from the fundamentals of Rodgers’s philosophy, which, he has always maintained, were non-negotiable.

Was discussing this with a mate of mine

After spending nearly £300m+ & 3 managers later we're still using Rafa's players

Looking at the squad when Rafa took over & when he left in terms of squad value it was a huge increase with the likes of Torres, Mascherano, Kuyt etc

I attended the Night with Rafa at the Liverpool empire & one of the the subjects covered on the night was the squad value before and after Rafa Benitez’s spell as Manager. The value of the squad left by Houllier, and these figures are easily checked, was around £120 million whereas the value of the squad bequeathed to Hodgson by Benitez was around £240 million.

Despite the huge spending, can you really say the squad has increased in value under Rodgers?
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

Couldn't give a **** about its value, none of the squads left to the predecessor was good enough to win the league and that's what matters. We've spent plenty of money and are still nowhere despite lasts seasons apparent blip.

I dont think he's a bad manager but i think the LFC job came too soon for him. The top jobs in european football are for experienced guys who have been through the bad times and have learned the hard way.

Brendans success at swansea cant be taken lightly but swansea are such a well run club that a few managers have gone there and been successful of which one was brendan rodgers.

Roberto martinez, rodgers, laudrup and now gary monk have all seamlessly slotted in and gotten on with the job.

Think what it comes down to is we are too easy to play against at the moment. No team fears us and our gameplan is pretty obvious. You can almost guess team selections too. Unless he goes back to last season's style I cant see us winning many of the next few games

We don't have the players. Gerrard can't play that role anymore and there is no alternative, and, we don't have any strikers.

yes but we've also had 2 wins and three draws in our last 5..one could argue that statistic wise our form is improving..

He has plenty of pacy midfielders to be able to play a high tempo pressing game. Even has a mobile forward too, who isnt a lot worse than Rickie Lambert. He could play a way much similar to it. But i dont expect him to

Might have been a little harsh of me, but I can remember Roy being very naïve tactically at times, and found it a bit rich of him to be passing comment on Rodgers when Roy's teams were generally soft when under pressure.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
