Ultimately I am really pleased with the direction we're heading in right now. We have a vision and a philosophy for the first time in a long time. The philosophy is bigger than the manager - look at how Swansea have coped every time they've lost a manager since Martinez was there. It's been incredibly smooth - a new man comes in and it's almost seemless. Same with Barcelona. Their philosophy is so strong that question marks remain over how good a coach Guardiola actually is, despite coaching the greatest clubs side in history.
And of course, we can look to our own history to find another example of how the philosophy is more important that the man in charge. It feels like that's what we're trying to do right now, and it's something we're going to have to be patient with. I've seen lots of signs of improvement personally, from the early friendlies where we didn't really seem to have much of a clue, to now where we click for a period during a match but can't sustain it, or can't make the possession tell.
Wow, this has turned into a much longer post that was intended. Basically, I think we need to be patient and support what Rodgers is trying to do.
