I think at the start of the season we all thought when Lucas came back he would shore up the midfield, thing is none of us banked on Allen deteriorating so badly. IMO We need a Mascherano/De Jong/Tiote type midfielder, someone who is dogged,full of energy & presses the opposition giving them no time on the ball. Our pressing and closing down is a disgrace. It's one main thing i thought Rogers wanted us to do and i expected to see it from LFC this season, but it is non existent.

We have a better team than our results,league position & showings but at the same time we aren't exactly that good either. We have been lucky in the fact that other teams have been so inconsistent. So much work to be done, Rogers has made mistakes but he will get time to sort out the mess that if LFC. His signings have been poor IMO & if he gets it wrong again in January well.... he will be under massive pressure.

With respect to allen, he started brilliantly and looks a very good player. I just think he's been over extended in our midfield with too many going the other way. I also think gerrards comments about him were totally wrong from the captain and it shows selfishness on his part. What a way to undermine a young player.

Since then for me Allen hasn't been the same player. But play him, henderson and a fit Lucas together, move Gerrard out of the middle and see what happens.

why not play Gerrard on the right and help him facilitate johnsons forward runs. You could see what working well and play Suarez left. But we've got to stiffen that midfield. If it means we have one less player in an advanced position so be it but we have to turn these defeats into draws.

Fact is, teams fancy playing against us and getting a result. We're the big name team with a soft centre.

We are mentally so weak it's frustrating watching us play at the moment and it's clear we need stronger more intelligent players.

Watching these lot just doesn't sit right with me at the moment. You can tell we were doomed to lose that game just from how we approached it. Alot of looking around, no talking, no-one taking responsibility etc... Need more winners in the side.

Let's get Gerrard out of the centre for a start. Try something different...we ve had 3 seasons of mediocrity, so why not?

I don't think there is any point thinking in those terms at the moment as he'll be given another 18 months at least imo.

that's his real name. That's who I would have back but I think he's a shoe in for the real Madrid job like another poster mentioned.

all we need to do is to tweak the tactics and we can start being more consistent, more competitive again. The best thing is that Rodgers can do that he just doesn't.

whichever one you rate, i'd like to bring in someone better. bringing in a defender that's not absolutely top class is unthinkable. but i do think the partnership could be improved. they are not the best back 2 we've ever had.
