The above article is rubbish tbh.

But bottom line is if you don't get results journos can print anything as the reason and some will think they have a point. If you win you're a genius, if you lose you're a fool. Theres no middle road.

The best way to nip negative publicity in the bud is to go and get results. Because sometimes being lucky is just as useful as being good. And make no mistake about it, Rodgers has been lucky this season. Lucky our main rivals for the top 4 have had struggles themselves. Lucky Basel couldn't put away Ludogorets because of a red card.

In a couple of months we could very easily be sitting in the top 4, coasting in the CL and doing well in the league cup. And I think that's exactly what will happen. And that isn't just because I'm being positive, it's actually my real opinion for once.

Agree the article is rubbish, and lazy.

But the bit in bold: Aren't Chelsea and City lucky that they're nearest rival to winning the league this season are struggling? If we got a few more results from the open goals we missed we'd easily be second. Us struggling is what's giving other teams hope of keeping us within reach, and they're pretty lucky we are struggling at the moment. As with luck, good or bad, it doesn't last forever.

I think you've got the blinkers on there a bit. You could argue that City, Arsenal and Utd are all below par at the moment and the argument could equally be that we're lucky that these teams are all playing poorly too to keep us within reach. Either way, it is what it is, a bunch of teams are very inconsistent at the moment and with that, we've still got a decent chance to finish in the top 4.

As for open goals and results, just go back to last week when we stole 3 points and should've been 3-0 down at half time.

As for reasons for our current form, I place the fault firmly with Rogers at the moment. We really needed at least 1 or 2 players who walked straight into the starting 11 and improved those positions dramatically but he chose not to do that, and that was a big mistake. Not a single player purchased in the summer has done that, they've all been simply squad additions at this stage. Moreno is the only player for me that I'd say looks like he has the potential to be a improvement .

It's mainly this. Our points tally says as much. Normally you need 2 points per game to be in and around top 4. Currently we have 14 points from 9 games. We're 4 points shy of that yet we're still 4th now (if you ignore Southampton, West Ham and Swansea who will all falter).

The other teams in and around us won't be this inconsistent for long so we need to buck our ideas up quick.

It could equally be argued they're lucky we're playing ****.

Why is it more of a crisis for us than it is them?

The way he coached us during my time there was impressive and I am sure that the methods I enjoyed and found so effective will continue to be employed. Feel a bit sorry for Brendan that Mourinho is on the coach of the year shortlist over him.

                      Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid)
                      Antonio Conte (Juventus/Italy)
                      Pep Guardiola (Bayern Munich)
                      Jurgen Klinsmann (USA)
                      Joachim Low (Germany)
                      Jose Mourinho (Chelsea)
                      Manuel Pellegrini (Manchester City)
                      Alejandro Sabella (Argentina)
                      Diego Simeone (Atletico Madrid)
                      Louis van Gaal (Holland/Manchester United)
Cant argue with any of the others. Apart from maybe Van Gaal, as that stint was based off the 7 games in the WC

It's an absolute piss take. What exactly is Mourinho on the list for?

With a World Cup year and the demolishing of Brazil Low will walk it surely.

                          Even with Simeones achievements.

Unbelievable that Hodgson's not made the shortlist. A previous LMA Manager of the Year... he's a shoe-in surely?

simeone's meltdown will probably costa him.

Thus confirming the cluelessness of general football fans/authorities/pundits. They all think Suarez was the genius behind Rodgers, not the other way round. Even after Suarez said it was the other way round.

I'm happy to keep Brendan under wraps to be honest. He'll continue being underestimated now that we've had a slow start and Suarez has gone. Opposing teams will think his blown his load and is on empty before he turns them around and has them singing Please Mrs Robinson. I think I've lost myself...
