I do think the pressure on him has increased though. It will be interesting to see the reaction he gets should we slip up against Palace and BournemouthOriginally posted by Lecter View PostNot sure, depends how **** performances are

I wasn't talking about league positions, my point was that he had a terrible start in his first season and turned it around, he can do it again IMO.

Yep and you'd be absolutely heartbroken if he was sacked wouldn't you ?Originally posted by Lecter View PostNot sure, depends how **** performances areLast edited by ~LFCHistory~; 08-11-14, 08:03 PM.

I don't have an issue with the substitutions as such. Whilst they were not the ones that immediately sprung to my mind, you can kinda see Rodgers' thinking. He's tweaked the formation to allow Borini to partner Balotelli, get Sterling in to the centre and Allen to offer some energy. Can had put in a shift, so perhaps he was feeling jaded.
But. Chelsea are so rigid when defending Allen's general tidiness offered nothing new. Lallana was the obvious choice, especially from the advanced left position Allen took up. Lallana's guile and goal threat would have added a different dimension to our attack and even more so if Rodgers had Lambert in mind for his final substitution because of their link up play at Southampton.
I hear people say he is carrying a knock, but why risk him at all from the bench when Markovic is left out entirely? It's not like we were struggling to make up a bench.

I obviously don't want to see him sacked and want him to turn things around but he looks a bit lost at the moment and that's what's worrying.Originally posted by captainfog View PostHe finished 7th in his first season. If he finishes 7th this time he'll be sacked. It's top 4 or bust for Rodgers.
And as I mentioned a few weeks back we could seriously end up in a relegation fight this season and that's not me scaremongering it's the ****ing truth.
We're conceding lots of goals and scoring hardly any and that's a massive recipe for disaster and we don't look capable of winning games even at home.
I believe if we lose 2 or 3 matches now on the run of 2 or 3 out of the next 5 he could be in ****, we're nearly in 2015 and that doesn't leave a lot of time for the Manager to get things right.
Like I said I like him and want him to succeed but he is not filling me with confidence at the moment.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

I don't know mate, it could quite easily happen and that's scary.
Hope you're right though.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

For us to fail to make top 4 in this current league we'll have to play pretty badly.Originally posted by Lecter View PostNot sure, depends how **** performances are

Top 4 is starting to look more and more unlikely isn't it? Is it harsh to sack him for missing out on it when the team is having to be re-invented after losing Suarez? I think so. He's shown that he has nous and adaptability though, so he deserves some time to put it right.
My biggest concern is the recruitment though - those signings are starting to look more and more bizarre as the season goes along. Who decides who to sign? It may just be Brendan's undoing, regardless of who is making the recruitment calls

Hope you're right though.I don't think you should dismiss Slinky's views as Utter bollocks...as you know in football anything can happen, and always the unxpected, and we are showing nothing at all to suggest we can climb the table anytime soon......Originally posted by Chazza View PostUtter bollocks.

Tell me where you can see positive results coming from over the coming weeks?
Yes Sturridge will be back soon but it's highly likely he will get injured again at some point which means he will be out again.
The defence is atrocious Chazza in fact the whole team is. If we can stop shipping goals then that will be a start but I just can't see it happening.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football.
