I hope Brendan did have a pop at a few players after the game, he must have been incensed at the magnitude of the defeat, 4th place gone barring a miracle, leaking 4 goals, and playing really poorly.

Get in there Brendan give them hell.

Players underperforming, Players refusing £100,000 a week, Players can't be bothered to be available, **** me Brendan knock some sense into them.

And if you do get the tin tack at the end of the season, Hard luck mate and all the best because this management game is a fickle bugger.

I think we need to stick with him- we were unbeaten in the league since November and second in Europe on form behind only Wolsberg.

We lost to United- who were, and are higher than us in the league, and although they haven't played good football this season, have been hard to beat.

We then lost away to Arsenal- when did we not lose away to Arsenal? Most clubs do

We're 5th still and although 4th looks almost impossible- i can see us catching United or even City. If we don't its not the end of the world.

If we have a good start to next season and buy a couple of first team players, we're good to go.

As long as we get a proven goalscorer in (probably for big money) then we'll not give all the other teams such a headstart this time. Next season there will be no Gerrard to ease into retirement and our goalie/defence will be playing like they know each other (shock!).

Plus, if Pellegrini is off'ed, as he will be, the new man will struggle initially which puts City's top 4 place in danger. Utd will also have a new goalie and a new CB (Hummels). As we found out the hard way, it takes a good few months for that understanding to bond. LvG's honeymoon will well and truly be over.

Not a chance of Rodgers getting the sack. New players will have had more time to settle in and hopefully we can buy and sell properly this Summer. Still gets another season.

Only downside is the high likelihood of Europa League football.

The new players (last summer's) will have had a year to settle but a whole new bunch is needed again. New centreback to replace his £20 million pound calamity (and Kolo), new right back, new defensive mid, 2 new forwards to replace Lambert, Borini and probably Ballotelli... and a new keeper.... And someone to play between the lines. Will be interesting to see what Rodgers's transfer masocism churns out this time.

It's just going to be permanent transition at this rate.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I think we should aim to make at most 3 signings for the first XI - a goal scorer being the main one.

There is a strong argument for getting a keeper but the type we need will be very pricey and I can't even think of one available. I think we should look to find a way to develop a young one now Mignolet has become passably decent.

One of our 4,000 centrebacks has to turn out to be good a good accompaniment to Skrtel and/or Sakho, no?

I agree, let's not try to fix all our problems at once. CB and GK can wait. If we don't lose anyone major I'd like to see a goal scorer, quality midfielder and then either a versatile fullback or another midfielder.

The season after we can add to that plus our younger players will only get better.
                      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

We've bulked the squad out now and we need genuine first XI starters. I'd happily see us move 3 of the 4 strikers we have on with Divock already coming in another quality signing is a must for me as whilst Sturridge is quality he seems to be made of glass.

The keeper I'm pretty comfortable with and isn't something that is massively pressing, I think developing a young keeper would be the way to go.

Another Centre Midfielder would be up on my list of priorities someone to either replace or at the very least challenge Lucas in that holding role, we're too reliant on him and when he's either out or making his return from injury we look a little lost.
