Or, he might have wanted to make his true thoughts known:Originally posted by red g View PostBootroom, We all know Brendan is steeped in Bull**** and that just sounds like more from him, he might have wanted to say .......
However, the boss says the input of Ayre, Fallows and Edwards is a help rather than a hindrance in the recruitment process.
“Obviously, I am involved heavily in the identification of the player,” Rodgers told the ECHO.
“The principle idea when I first came in was that like any manager you will have the first call on a player and the last call. I suggested Sanchez he didnt want to come, And wanted to bring in a few older more experienced heads but FSG Policy would not let me.
“That’s the call on whether he’s good enough to continue to look at and try to organise a deal and the last call to say yes or no. I wanted Williams they gave me that cart horse Lovren, i knew he was a 1 season wonder...but I just prayed he could continue his 1 good season....didnt really want him it was an age thing with FSG. I wanted to spend 20m on a proven player but that cunt Ayre is ****e at transfer dealings and was obsessed with finding the next Suarez, He gave us Markovic, i said he looks a fanny but might be a good player in a year or 2 but we need someone good now.
“The finer details of that are left to Ian who does a ****e job and is to busy playing horsey with Robbie to sort seals out and our other guys in that field who will go through the contracts try and save every last penny the tight arsed ****s . I am aware of where the situation is at right the way through the process and I get annoyed as ****
“We will never bring in a player here who the manager doesn’t want in, But when you give me a choice between Balotelli and no-one who do i Pick? That’s how wank the owners are and the other people at the club.
“We work very closely together – it’s worth stressing that, But i never get what i want, but am desperate to succeed here It’s key that we are very much one club/
“We are really preparing for next season, but thats all we ****ing ever do....I wish we would buy proven quality and I’ve had some very good meetings with our recruitment team which lead to ****ing nowhere.”
"I love this transfer committee bollocks 'cause if a signing turns out great I'll get all the credit, but if it turns out ****e there will be all sorts of conspiracy theories knocking about explaining how Ayre and his flunkies are undermining poor wee Bren. Peace out".

Yeah but my point is I would have rather have pumped the £100m in the wages and signing on fees for those players than what we spent it on last summer. There are loads of top quality free agents available in the summer who would be much better than our current crop of frauds.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Post
good luck. Alves would expect at least 180k a week. The first two are gettable.

Oh I agree on that point. But under the current regime that just isn't going to happen.Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostYeah but my point is I would have rather have pumped the £100m in the wages and signing on fees for those players than what we spent it on last summer. And there in lies the entire problem mate. Things won't change with just the manager being sacked . The whole setup needs to be binned off from top to bottom.
With the current free agents available in the summer it makes perfect football and business sense to look at them . But like you said with the current setup it's a none starter. A prime example of how good free agents are is when we signed Markus Babbel from Bayern. No doubt one of the best defenders in Europe at the time and he chose to come to Liverpool out of all the teams in europe even when we were not in the CL. If you pay the wages they will come and until we do nothing will change.

i agree that wages need to be available for top players. In reality though the players arent playing for free either. We will struggle to get rid of any of our squad that we dont want because nobody would pay them as much as lfc do. When we were going after sanchez though last summer we should have paid him 200k a week. He would have come if we paid him a lot more than arsenal. Instead we gave it to balotelli lambert and lallana combined and they have done **** all....
Brendans position depends on the clubs transfer plans for the summer.....if they dont want to spend a lot of cash, then they are likely to stick with BR for another season at least.......if they are going to invest a lot in the squad again, then if klopp or de boer can bring fresh talent at reasonable prices, then it may be too tempting.

Just come across this on the official and thought it had some pretty decent points when comparing past managers and their sackings.
Three years, £200m plus spent, mostly on ***** - imagine if he was the manager of a rival like Utd - we'd all be laughing at them and saying he should stay - which is what CFC, AFC, UTD etc... fans are saying to us.
And there are LFC fans SO deluded that they liken BR to Shankly's second coming. Utterly, utterly laughable.
A supposed tactical genius taken to task by Tim (D'oh!) Sherwood? Five formations in one game? A man who thinks playing Villa in a Cup semi is a BIG occasion?
A man who hid behind the striking prowess of Suarez and the positive effect that had on the team, who then replaced that prowess with *****? Who was still smiling when this season started because even HE believed his own hype, until the team and squad he "rebuilt" with the £220m fell apart? A man who then managed to scrape together some wins and an unbeaten run that took us all the way to...5th (which far from being an indicator of how "great" he is, is rather a massive indication of just how crap we were until that point.)
A man who claimed HE had last say on ALL players signed but will now brief his media mates about a transfer committee making him take players he didn't want? I wanted Willian (boo hoo!) but they bought me Balotelli etc...
Here's the really, really annoying thing though. We HAD the closest we've come to an heir to Shanks and we let some bankers sack him. He fought for this club and its fans. He built a squad with a smaller avg net spend per season than Sunderland had over his 6 seasons here. He took us into Europe, won us the CL, nearly won it for us again, and took us to the very, very top of the Euro rankings, and made us a feared name once again. He won us an FA Cup, and nearly won us the league. He brought us players with courage and spark and genuine desire (despite the gambles and the mistakes that all managers make) - Alonso, Agger, Masch, Torres, Reina and Kuyt (to name a few) would have run through a wall for us. He MADE Gerrard the best player in his position in the WORLD in 05-09 - something even Gerrard knows ("he told me I ran too much" said Stevie of his first meeting with Rafa.) Rodgers midfield maestro is Allen, Rafa's was Xabi - GAME OVER.)
Rodgers will do NOTHING with this club. Three years, three Summer windows of spending, 3 January's, and look where it's got us? Yes - second last year, which means nothing to anyone outside some of our fan base, a laughing stock in the CL when we got there, and "progress" that is taking us backwards. Funds wasted, tactics a joke, formations seemingly decided on the hoof, players bought and discarded without so much as five games to prove themselves and on and on...
Like I said - laughable, laughable, laughable. If we removed Rafa for one bad season (under extreme H&G induced duress) forgetting what he achieved in the other five, if we sacked our KING after he won us a cup, and nearly won another, then FFS why are people even questioning this?

I shouldn't post anything right now, but I genuinely think Rodgers will not achieve anything with us, so I vote we save some time and get Rafa pr Klopp in.Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostJust come across this on the official and thought it had some pretty decent points when comparing past managers and their sackings.
