why are people so obsessed with FSG making money each season from Liverpool football club. The paid £300m for us and the club was valued at nearly £700m a few months ago.

they've made nearly £400m on paper in 5 years on us, so why are they going to worry about making sure we don't overspend by £10m each season in the transfer window.

they believed they had the right model - they probably have but they recruited the wrong manager for the job. They didn't want to sell Torres, suarez or sterling but were put into difficult situations with regards to all three and they played hard ball and got outstanding money for all 3.

What we do isn't rocket science, clubs have been doing it for years but what fsg don't want to do is pay £50m for someone like Raheem sterling. I wouldn't want them to either, there are plenty of players available at the right price, we just need a manager who is willing to play them, because even though the committee haven't always delivered they have signed some potentially brilliant players.

And Ayre was instrumental in removing Rafa and keeping us away from him since then. Mike Gordon is regarded as being FSGs most knowledgeable but that has only come in the last few years of them owning us.

It wasn't a legitimate decision to keep him at all it was a ridiculous decision, sacking his staff was a laughable response to a very poor season on the whole. Keeping a manager who ended the season as he did just highlights how far we've fallen.
Reading that you'd think we were at the pinnacle of world football before FSG rather than not having won the league for 25 years. Whatever people think about the reasons for 13/14, we came within one slip of the most unlikely and glorious league win in memory, I don't think it is entirely unreasonable for that to have banked some credit for the manager with the owners and to call the decision ridiculous isn't entirely objective imo. Not when insinuating on the other hand that Rafa should have been kept when at the time that was just as 50/50, however people might choose to remember it now.

Sure it hasn't worked out but there is a danger of hyperbole, if everyone is responsible for our mediocre performance since they were also responsible for almost returning us to the top less than 18 months ago. The swing in fortune pains us all but to an extent that is football, and something we've experienced multiple times since 1990, hardly a unique situation to the current regime or even really such a huge fall in recent times.

Yes it is time for a new manager to have a chance, undoubtedly there is no excuse for the level of performance being extracted from the squad in recent months, but we are not in a position that cannot be retrieved if looked at objectively. Indeed for me the most damning thing for Rodgers is that the tools have been there for us to be performing much better than we have been, if our ownership was that bad he would have far more acceptable excuses. It can always be improved or tweaked of course but the template isn't that far wrong if we can get someone at the helm who can maximise results from the resources at our disposal imo

Or it is about not hampering the cash available for whoever may be manager after a period of substandard performance.

        Sensible really.

Where's the Mazzarri talk coming from?

Klopp has begged for the job ffs, not a chance he doesn't get an offer if not Ancelotti.

Friday Night club discussing Rodgers as one would expect and are backing Rodgers cos "Klopp failed" (Sutton)

              Save me.

Fascinating discussion, idiot guests are clueless. Chris Sutton and Trevor Sinclair appear not to have much understanding of the set up. Henry Winter the only one with any sense.

The fact that no major news outlet has jumped on this Mazzarri link ( I've never heard of him) would make you suspect bull****.

Nobody said we were at the pinnacle before they arrived but we were competitive for the most part. We've had one good season in the 5 they've been here. Yes they saved us from administration, yes we make a few quid. But who cares. We are a football club first, business second. We have utterly underperformed on the pitch and that's where I'll judge the owners, manager and players. The buck often stops with the manager for on field performance but the owners are complicit because they hired him, they put the infrastructure around him that he has to work under and they set the transfer strategy that has utterly failed for whatever reason and nobody but Pascoe and Marsh have paid the price for that. It's a joke. And let me be clear, getting rid of Rodgers won't solve all our ills, it should only be the start. Those on the committee have failed too and they should be out with him. The owners showed no mercy to Kenny, they've showed plenty of it since to a few at the club who could have no complaints if they got the bullet.

Caught waiting for Ryanair flight to Liverpool. Can't make **** out in the picture posted.

As if he'd be rocking up to Anfield for talks. Thought all our **** like this was handled in London in any case.

Doesn't the TV money go up drastically next season? If I was FSG - whether keeping or looking to sell on the club depending on which paper you read - that would definitely make me change manager before completely losing out on the opportunity to still get 4th and Champions League money...

There's nothing wrong with Ryanair. They always get there on time , if not before time!

Perhaps someone more knowledgeable on Klopp could answer a question that has been bugging me: if we had everyone fit, how could we expect this Klopp LFC team to line up?

Well I'd trust that Klopp saw that he had inherited a squad that had little natural width ahead of the full backs and so played 4-4-2 diamond. At Dortmund he used a narrow 4-2-3-1

I wrote a team out earlier today but deleted because of the injuries and it seemed to soon to speculate. But this is what I'd expect if all available:

                                Mig
                                Clyne Skrtel Sakho Moreno
                                Henderson and Lucas (or Milner)
                                Ibe Coutinho Ings
                                Sturridge

As mentioned I would hope he went for a diamond but he'd probably try to start with his tried and trusted formation. Can see Milner and Benteke being distanced for their lack of ability on the ball. I'm still to be convinced of Benteke's contributions.
                                One tit for another.
