Don't know why some on here are feeling sorry for him.
The only time things have clicked into place on the pitch since he became LFC manager was the final two thirds of 2013/14 season. That period had the fan base buzzing with razor sharp football and lots and lots of goals (at both ends).
Outside of that period we've been consistently crap under him.
Rodgers clearly knows his job is under threat so the obvious thing for him to do is go back and set the team up the same way it was set up in that golden period. By all accounts we now have the players that can make that system work (unlike last season when our squad was unbalanced due to a terrible summer transfer window).
The fact that he stubbornly refuses to do this and instead carries on setting the team up to play the mind numbing football they're currently playing makes him a prize idiot in my book
Hurry up and get Klopp or Ancelloti in FSG. Time's is a wasting...

He should have 3 seasons to build the team.Originally posted by Fredo View PostHow long will people be willing to give a new manager, if things don't start going well quickly after a few weeks or months? .

The only way we are getting CL football any time soon is via winning the Europa League and Rodgers IMO is not up to the task. We won't even qualify next season at this rate.
Ancelotti or Klopp could galvanise a squad that does have a fair bit of quality and navigate us through to latter stages and possibly winning it.
FSG need to act fast or we could be in the wilderness for a while.
I've nothing against Rodgers but the past year has been atrocious bar one run of 10 matches. The performance in the semi was our worst Wembley show I can remember and I've been supporting since 1977.
He's done his best but 3 years on we are back to square one and that's not good enough for Liverpool Football Club especially given the reported £200m spend.

My reason for a change is purely to enjoy watching us again
I can't handle seeing us getting battered by Stoke 6-1 and losing to West ham for the first time in 50 years at home and consistently draw at home with teams who we should beat.
When we play any big games in the last 18 months we come up short again and again.
He also got rid of Carroll at a massive loss because he didn't fit in with his football philosophy and then signs Lamber last year and Benteke this year.
If the Bodge and Kenny were shown the door for poor results then Brendan has to go for this reason as well.

The defence rests.
No idea what point you've been driving at today
You've aired the old 'best fans in the world' routine.
You've considered giving Rodge more time - but we are season 4 now. And going backwards.
You've offered the financial excuse, but Rodgers has spent £300m.
But you've also said you think he'll get fired?
The facts are.
Incoherent transfer strategy.
Team playing formation that does not back up transfer strategy.
Formation that players were bought to fulfil already abandoned.
Chronic lack of form.
Zero tactical direction or discipline.
Buying players and then not playing them in their correct positions.
Undermining his own coaching by frequently changing formation resulting in a team that look like strangers playing with zero confidence no matter who we come up against.
And a horrific run of results stretching back for well over a year, with only one decent run, that still was not convincing in terms of performance.Modifying post.

I want a manager to show development.
He should get 3 years at the least but if he is continually progressing then fans will show patience
After 2013/2014 we have fallen back and we haven't recovered
If anything we are regressing further under the current managerLast edited by Lecter; 25-09-15, 04:57 PM.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Results have been worse than Roy and performances have been equally as turgidOriginally posted by Mattshark View PostSadly our performances have been very Hodgsonesque.
We also have to remember Rodgers has spent **** loads more than Roy ever did yet we are still mirroring the results and performances of that Hodgson sideBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
