Me too. Thought it was an Irish thing.

Brendan could do with someone advising him before his PC's.

I get that he is under extreme pressure, but what he fails to acknowledge is that is with some reason. It's all well and good coming out with the 'I told you so' after a decent run of form, but he keeps shooting himself in the foot by coming out on the offensive so quickly - with Lovren after our 'decent' start and clean sheets, and now after a scrambled win against a ****e Villa from whom we recently bought their most potent attacker.

I'd want him to acknowledge that we've been weak recently, we have had issues with our formation and that can understand the fans frustration, and then to say that he can see that we can be better.

Constantly spinning that things are ok makes him vulnerable when the inevitable defeat comes, and in terms of complaining about the investment or 'tools' he has been provided, well we are certainly at the top end of the table in terms of money spent. Sometimes he tries to be way to clever in interview without realising the fanbase and journalists can interpret the riddles he throws out in a number of ways.

I'd advise straight talking Brendan, keep it to the point and keep it short and sweet.

Its a weird one, but he does himself no favours with his current attitude, and if anything turns the pressure up on himself.

I don't care what he acknowledges or not in press conferences. What matters is what happens with the team. He's got enough to worry about there.

It appears that several journalists have taken against him now (or at least think that the story is in probing his failures), some even suggesting they have information from inside FSG that he isn't fully trusted. As much as I don't like the way he has done it, I think a manager of LFC probably has to come our swinging in these circumstances.

Apart from getting criticised on Sky, I haven't seen much of it in newspapers to be honest, therefore I'm thinking that his grievances has to be at certain sections of the board or at a faction of vociferous supporters. He might have been pissed off at suggestions that we are moving backwards - think it was a comment from Henry after the game against Norwich.

If you win games you silence them. If you lose games you can say whatever and it doesn't go away. He should just trot out the old cliches such as "it's a results business" etc and keep his private thoughts & problems quiet.

Instead of complaining about other teams having similar results without the pressure, he should just accept he's at a club where there is massive pressure and expectations that exceed the finances. If he can't handle or accept that, then he needs to go.

Having though on it, he's talking about the media and reporters, but not the ones that are permanently with the club such as Joyce, Hunter & Barrett.

His biggest complaint is that these people in the media are digging him out when other teams have done just as worse this season. His problem is that other managers in a similar situation have credit in the bank from past seasons, he spent all his credit last year.

Chelsea are doing rubbish but Mourinho won them the league last year and has a proven track record of success. Last year LFC were appealing but up until the collapse late in the season I'd say he had pretty much the full backing of the fans. That was thanks to coming runners up the year before & a decent run in the domestic cups.

He hasn't mentioned Chelsea at all though. Talked about United and Arsenal losing two games (United have lost only one game in the league btw), and I think City as well, but not Chelsea.

that "give me the tools" comment looks stupid alright.

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if BR knows he is on the way out and he is looking to get his revenge in first!!! The comments from Ian Ayre at the end of the window along the lines of "this summer the manager got all of the players he asked for" support the theory that he is on borrowed time and that the decision makers (the committee!!) was essentially a hung-jury in the summer.

When we first signed Ings, Milner, Bogdan and even Clyne - i was thinking "okay, some freebies and 2 players that are very low risk in terms of outlay (Ings and Clyne)" but the 60m on Benteke and Firmino throws that out the window.

I didn't say he had, I just used Chelsea as an example.

Arsenal: Won the FA Cup 2 seasons running, always in the top 4 and always qualify for KO stages of CL. Supporters want more, but if Rodgers was doing what Wenger was he'd have a job for life with FSG.

United: Reached the objective of top 4 in LVG first season. Objective this season was to challenge and they're currently top of the league.

City: Started Like a house on fire, but a few poor results. If the poor results continued you can bet your house the press would have it in for Pellegrini.

Thing is, Rodgers was given the money to sign the tools. He had a leaky defence in 13/14 and blamed the committee for signing Sakho who he didn't think was good enough. He's given £25m to sign a CB and leader and he signs Lovren, who in pretty much his first interview said he wasn't a leader.

                        Plenty of examples.
