Disappointing claptrap from Stevie, from a selfish Liverpool fan perspective.
Talks about the team playing well etc etc......absolute twaddle, albeit predictable twaddle.
    Give it up man.

Love Stevie and what he has meant for the club but he is over the top, isn't he?. He isnt even half the footballer he was in 2006. He was UTTER ****E yesterday....again...compared to what he used to clock in that is...

Imagine if he could put in a performance like Pirlo did yesterday at the tender age of 33. But he doesnt really have the technical level to do that - does he?

I think its time to consider if LFC could spend his 130.000£ a week wages on something better.

He suffered yesterday from us surrendering possession against Italy and in all the other games.

Up until then both him and Johnson were Englands best players

I think we will have to get used to him operating in a more withdrawn position and not making the lung busting runs into the box like he used to but he is certainly capable to play in a deeper position and have a positive effect on the game

But he isnt a game changer anymore at all. He looks like he has zero confidence and even less ability. There is only the hype left at this stage. Sadly. I dont think LFC or England will get any where trying to build around him. That ship has sailed...

            Really?

You honestly believe he has no confidence and has lost the ability to play?

But he was much better than him in the previous 3 games. I doubt Gerrard will ever come up against a manager so inept as Hodgson that he's given teh freedom to put in a performance like Pirlo yesterday. As good as Pirlo was, it was made far too easy for him. Let’s see how he does against the German’s.

And surely Pirlo is the perfect example of what can happen to a club when they get rid of their star player to spend the wages on 'something better'.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I honestly believe that he has lost the ability to clock in a performance like the cup final in 2006. I also think he lost the "loving feeling". There is no passion left in him, is there?

I believe that he is done for as a footballer at 130K a week level. When was the last time we saw Stevie? 2008? Since then his level has been an overall embarrassment give or take a few matches considering where he came from and what he used to bring.

I thought the Everton performace was decent.

You are right about Pirlo of course. I agree with you. It was made so easy for him and Italy. It's so hard to comprehend the lack of skill that was displayed by Hodgson yesterday as a manager. I think we have to go back to Scum defeat at San Giro where they lost 4-0 to see a worse tactical perfomance from a manager in an important game.

Other than that it could be that Im just getting old and grumpy. I just don't think Gerrard is at the required level anymore and I don't think he has been for a long time. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.

Precisely. That's the only one though...isn't it?

This is a wind up right?

Use another word then. A disappointment? Is that better?

                          You get the idea.

He came on against Newcastle and did more in 30 minutes than the other 20 odd players put together. He was on for player of the tournament before last nights debacle.

He's certainly not done and as poor as he was for most of last season it's not too surprising considering how long he was out injured for.

                                No worries.

You think he is the at the same level as he was in 2008 and I don't.
