Can we just keep this a thread about how Rafa is doing? The last thing we need is Craig launching into another yawnfest of a 16 page Rafa Vs Mourinho debate.

Anybody read that article on Inter's finances for a couple of weeks ago. They're losing huge sums of the money every year - we're talking near to €100m a year!

        (I'll try and find it)

Out of the frying pan and into the fire for Rafa.

Mourinho certainly knows when to join clubs and when to leave them.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Jose took a gamble going to Inter as only winning the CL would have been a success, but he did it. He goes to where he has money but there is more pressure in them jobs than anywhere else.

Rafa won the cL and FA cup at LFc and not a lot else, but stayed so long because we have pretty much 0 expectations. No pressure at LFC really when you think about it.
            Forwards.......

as i have said the reason he has been able to do it is that he is a very very good manager.

i dont think there is a the best but there is a group of them and benitez is definately there
No Marsh, the reason i think he is better, is because i think he's better.

You need to quit that mindreading nonsense, it doesnt work.

I've no qualms with people thinking he's better. His CV is better after all.

I just think if you put it all into context then there's not a lot in it. Like I said, they're both from the top drawer.

I certainly dont think there's a massive amount in it, and i agree that they're both top class managers.

                      No.

Come top 4 at LFC and it's a success. It's suprising to see how much we've fallen. If Hodgson comes top 6 this year no one will be saying he's done a poor job.

                        you really are condasending.

i dont claim to be a mindreader

the point was that he manages to get himself in to jobs where he looks good that doesnt mean he is the best.

i think he is up there but you have to recognise that does manage to get the right job at the right time.

the madrid job will be interesting for him. as will inter for Rafa.

Condescending, if that's what you want to call it. Not how it was intended, but you've already tried to second guess what i think about stuff, so i guess this makes no difference

I just resent someone thinking they know why i think something, and then using it as an apparent reason to 'dismiss' my view. Which, whether you meant to or not, is what you basically did.

And i didnt say he was the best, just like i didnt say Rafa was ****.

I'd appreciate it if you didnt imply that i said stuff, when i didnt. And that's not me being condescending, it's me trying to be polite and respectful.

I'm sorry but I couldn't disagree more really. The media and the fans always expect a title challenge at Liverpool and if we don't manage it we the manager and the team gets slated no matter the circumstances. We have 20 years now and counting since the last title won by the most successfull UK team and everybody expects success (unfairly most of the time).

Rafa was/is a great manager and to insinuate that he only stayed because he found a comfort zone is very insulting of the man IMO. He didn't have to stay as long as he did but he loved the club and that's why he stayed so long.
                            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

It would be polite and respectful. So there's no chance of that.
                              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Not to mention he risked compromising his position by tackling the owners head on - he played a key role in exposing them. We have a lot to be grateful to him for.
