Thanks, Shaggy. I still don't remember him but maybe that's because I was at school with someone nicknamed Speedy. He was OK. A bit of a git but he left at the end of the third year (Year 9 as it's now styled). I gave him his nickname although he later denied it.

What a sad little man he is/was, filling his time on other teams fans sites and not even having the bottle or pride to be himself.

Truth is, if Fergie came into management in the modern era, he would'nt have got all those barren trophyless years in a job without winning diddly, he'd have been gone, sacked, reputation tainted, start from square one again, he's had it soooooo easy, and he would'nt have lasted a week with Hicks and Gillett, he'd have blown his top and walked!

He would never get the the six years he needed to build up the club. He would as you point out be sacked and start all over again.

If you look at the whole picture and ask questions like if Fergie would have been able to build up a club in three years to be the best in Europe with owners like Moores, Gillett and Hicks. With CEO like Parry and Purslow then the answer would most probably be no. If Rafa would have been able to build up Man U in the same way Fergie have done? Then the answer would most probably be yes. He would have won league title after league title and you can in your worst nightmare imagine how many times he would have won the CL with them. Fergie won it twice. Rafa would probably won it five, six, seven times.
