    Bantz

Epic bantz and very newsworthy. It's clearly a charm offensive to make way for Rafa's return!

        Robbie.

(TBH I thought it was a pretty **** retort from Rafa.)

I think his anger was more with the interviewer rather than the prospect of working with Rafa.

TRAINING, FOOD, REST AND MORE TRAINING

              Benítez brings back the siesta

In a speech that lasted about an hour, the words 'unity' and 'team' prevailed above all others, as the Spaniard considers it essential to increase the time the squad spends together.

One of the first measures Benítez will implement is to take more advantage of the spectacular facilities at Valdebebas. The Spanish coach is considering establishing much longer days of work, including lunch and a nap in the team's daily routine.

There will also be double training sessions on many occasions, some on the pitch and others viewing videos, which the new Real Madrid boss believes is a fundamental way to do things.

Benítez explained to his players that it is essential to take care of fitness, including through diet and rest. He wants the squad members to be constantly monitored at the club's training complex, which he believes are the best facilities in the world.

He also intends for the squad to sleep at the complex for most matches, a refreshing move which has pleased the board of directors, as Carlo Ancelotti rarely made his players stay at Valdebebas.

Although these measures are usually not liked by the players, the message went down fine with the squad. They are impressed by the winning mentality which the coach has shown from the off. Rafa has begun by establishing a very close relationship with the players.

                        Montse

Montse Benitez has been nicknamed ‘The Angel of Kindness’ after paying for 33 disadvantaged and grieving children from across Merseyside to go to Disneyland Paris.

Montse, The wife of the former Liverpool manager, Rafael Benitez, paid £11,500 for the children, who are part of the Our Lost Love Years (OLLY) charity, to travel to Paris on executive coaches to enjoy a trip of a lifetime.

The children are part of the OLLY charity, set up by Jean Taylor to help youngsters across Merseyside deal with the loss of a loved one, and now also offers disadvantaged children different experiences.

Jean set up the charity, which operates alongside Families Fighting for Justice, following the murder of her daughter Chantel at the hands of Stephen Wynne.

Now helping over 60 children from communities across Merseyside, the OLLY children will get to experience the magic of Disney thanks to Montse and Rafael Benitez’s donation.

Jean, who also runs the Families Fighting for Justice charity, read about the amazing work of the Montse Benitez foundation and decided to get in touch.

She said: “I read about all the wonderful work she did and I made an application to help the children of OLLY in any way she could.

“We have a wish list on the OLLY website and Montse went on there and decided to buy us two tents we needed for a camping trip and paid for the five day camping trip.

“She also put a big bin outside her house with the OLLY name on it and asked her friend and neighbours to donate any unused clothing so it could go to our charity shop.”

Already overwhelmed by Montse’s kindness, Jean then received a call from Montse saying she wanted to pay for the disadvantaged children to travel to Disneyland.

Jean said: “She went away and said she had been back on the OLLY wish list and wanted to pay for the Disneyland trip. She’s paid for the children to travel on two executive coaches, their travel insurance, a packed lunch for each of them and £20 each to spend on toys or merchandise.

“The children were extremely delighted and I was absolutely shell-shocked. She has helped the children no end and the children call her the ‘Angel of Kindness’.

Jean said the trip will offer children a break from their “dark place”, be that the grief felt after the loss of a loved one or taken from their communities experiencing high unemployment or criminal activity.

She added: “It will take some of the children out of their dark place while they are grieving, and out of their communities which can be another dark place for them. We can’t thank Montse enough.”

Montse has also donated one of her designer dresses and handbags to the charity, which will be auctioned at the Families Fighting for Justice and OLLY charity shop.

The children will enjoy a five night camping trip to North Wales in August and a trip to Disneyland Paris in October.
