Rafa Benitez has revealed that he wanted to bring Santi Cazorla to English football five years before Arsenal signed the Spanish midfield star.
Cazorla has settled quickly at Arsenal following his £12million move from *Malaga last summer – and he could well be the scourge of Benitez and Chelsea in this afternoon’s Premier League clash at *Stamford Bridge.
But Cazorla was on the *Benitez radar long before his move to London. While he was in charge at Liverpool, Benitez wanted to bring Cazorla to Anfield from Villarreal where he was an emerging winger.link

Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez brands Inter Milan defender Marco Materazzi a liar.
Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez branded Inter Milan defender Marco Materazzi 'a liar' after the Italian defender hit out at his former boss.
Materazzi, who fell out with Benitez when he replaced Jose Mourinho in 2010, launched a stringing attack on the Spaniard in a recent interview.
The Italy World cup winner described life under Benitez as like "being back at school" and claimed the Spaniard had been lined up to replace Mourinho while the Portugese was still in charge.
"He's lying. Marco Materazzi is lying. He's lying, just lying. Everything that he said is a lie. Simple."
Rafa Benitez Quotes of the week
Materazzi also claimed that Benitez ordered the removal of pictures of Mourinho at Inter's training centre because he was a "weak person".
However, Benitez, who was sacked by Inter after only six months in charge, used Tuesday's press conference to deny Materazzi's comments.
"He's lying," Benitez said. "Marco Materazzi is lying. He's lying, just lying. Everything that he said is a lie. Simple.
"When he was talking with Mourinho it's a lie, because nobody knew I was going to Inter, even me. It's a lie.Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez branded Inter Milan defender Marco Materazzi 'a liar' after the Italian defender hit out at his former boss.

Apparently in Rafa's book (I haven't read it) he talks about how he plotted to expose Materazzi when we played Inter in the CL. Of course the Blue****e cunt got sent off (harshly, but he was still destroyed by Torres & co). That probably got right under his skin. Also he's the one who blubbed when Mourinho left so it's obvious where his loyalties lie. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
