I think he'll struggle to get back to being as integral a part of the team as he was, mainly because he's always needed a run of games to get back to sharpness and he won't get that now. Our style has evolved as you say, but he's played well in a Klopp team before and Klopp definitely used to have strong love for him. It's not that he fundamentally doesn't fit Klopp's way of playing.

To say he's been a failure bar 3 months is odd. Still, it's all about opinions I guess and as you say you've never been a fan.
I think he only produced where it mattered (G&A) consistently for a sustained period at the start of the 16/17 season. He excelled in that AM role in the midfield 3 where Phil took up later. Of course he’s had other good games but those were sporadic.

His output for G&A for an expensive (at that time) AM are poor over his career here.

He was very good in a couple of pre-season games (particularly Tranmere) and showed signs that he still had a role to play.

Not sure why he's getting a bit of grief now after a six minute cameo when we doubled our lead and killed the game off with him on the field.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Part of the problem lies with his pre teens/early teens hairstyle. A 30 year old sporting a 'skunk'. If you're going to draw attention to yourself, you need to be **** hot at what you do. Currently he is not, due to several injuries

I can't disagree with that. He even embarrassed Bobby into going for a normal cut, for fear of being tarred with the same brush.

Him and Henderson are inseparable though - might be worth keeping him here solely for that.
Agree - they can chat on the bench

He comes on and tries to recreate the zippy lightweight dervish that he once was but now he goes blundering in with a late tackle and if often left to wave his arms around while the game goes on around him. Hes finished.
If moreno was coming on and looking like a disaster then he'd also be getting it.

So he's not match fit after not having a competitive game in about a year. Sell

Yeh but my comments dont upset of effect the player and we are all entitled to our opinions.

The club has done great by players who were out with long term injuries and some have come back to play again, but sometimes you need to be a realist and realise he has only given us top form for a very limited time, often injured or recovering and breaking down again...

YNWA and best fans and all that, but unless we also have a degree of ruthlessness we never move on. I am old enough to remember Shanks and Paisley telling long term legends their time was up and they needed to fnd a new club. They knew that the quality n the oitch was paramount and it was essential to clear out the stragglers to keep the others hungry and challenged.

But nobody really thinks Lallana is going to be a nailed on starter for the team. He's there as a squad player and tbh a fully fit Lallana is a far superior squad option to some of the groundlings we have seen coming off the bench in the past.

It's great to have a player who when fully fit was an integral member of the team now coming on, shows that the depth has improved. If we get rid of the likes of Lallana, fans will start going on about the lack of depth or experience of that depth from the bench.

In short, I don't think there is an obvious replacement of the same quality as Lallana who is also willing to sign for the bench , so why bother selling him?

With you on that Baitman, just a couple of specific things, like the Divok hatred and now Lallana's ****.

He's not ****, it's brilliant that a very good player like Lallana, is approaching that line where we start to consider replacing him. As I said, I think he's a cracking player and if he stays fit, I think he'll reclaim a starting place. I could be wrong, I just don't like it when we start insulting our own players for perhaps not quite being as good as we'd like.

Reserve that for the Diouf's, Lallana's done nothing but try hard and be good for us.

Billob, even a "fully fit" lallana is a shadow of his former self, never had pace and now he has even less, looks clumsy and just rattles the back of a players legs when hes getting left for dead. He goes wading in like hes a reincarnation of roy keane just to make it look like he is making a big contribution...
Markovic or grujic are better options from the bench.

Markovic? Seriously? Lallana needs time to get match sharp but his pressing is very useful against tiring legs and his versatility makes him a good option from the bench. He needs time without nightly injuries. I don’t not really understand the need for people to constantly single out our own players for abuse. (Unless they’re being a massive bellend)
