I disagree buddy, his final ball and touch is actually very good. He just hasn't been given the chance to show that yet in a Liverpool shirt.

We're talking about a guy who produced week in week out for Southampton but has not yet got going for us for varying reasons.

He is quality we can all see that, Klopp clearly does. Him and Sturridge are the nearest I've seen to Barnes and Beardsley in a Liverpool top, both have some way to go yet but they have similar skills.

Totally confident in both of them to get there too.

He was out best player tonight but perhaps from a £25m player we could expect a better "match-winner".

After Lucas, Sakho is my next favourite player. Even with that bias, I could only give him second best today. As you say all brown eyes are different. It would be ****ing boring if we all liked the same thing

He’s here! I *know* he’s here! That’s him, I’m telling you that’s him! You hear me? I’m telling you it’s *Keyser Soze*!

He did ok tonight, but goals are a glaring omission from his game. He's no good to Liverpool if he doesn't score - we desperately need a goalscoring, incisive midfielder.

Lallana was the pick of the forward players tonight as thin a compliment as that is, at Soton under Poch he was the man who made things happen in behind Lambert and Rodriquez I don't think it's any accident that he is benefiting from Klopps approach. Poch likes to press space with little runs for the striker/s to work off. Obviously this is still all new and clearly the players are not in synch with each other. It'll take time.

Really needs to add goals and assists to his game. It was all foreplay and no penetration today, you can see why people got a little excited with his performance. Ultimately, he did **** all really.

Klopp's walked into a real mess at LFC,Gonna take him time to undo all of this.

That is the problem with our team , we as an attacking side have been pretty awful for months and that includes everyone.

We need more goals from the attacking quartet whoever they are otherwise we will struggle the whole season.

But if we are missing Sturridge and Benteke , same problem as last year could be a long season.

Way too critical. He took shots, they just went wide. He needs to improve his shooting but he was our biggest attacking threat until Benteke came on.

Name me the chances he created today? **** all is the answer.
In fact he slows play down with his constant ball hogging and spinning on the ball. He was bought to provide goals and create chances and he doesn't do that.
Anybody know who laid the ball to Benteke when he hit the post?

One trick pony springs to mind.

When he beats someone he likes to go back and do it again. So pondorous on the ball. But he is bright and alert and has something, just needs to get an end product.

Too early to say that Klopp clearly rates him. Let us see how much he figures when everyone is fit and whether he is still here after a couple of more transfer windows.

As for being nearest to Barnes and Beardsley, if you look at player quality, productivity and impact, Lallana is closer to Pennant and Downing than Barnes and Beardsley. That is more of a reflection of how good Barnes and Beardsley are than a criticism of Lallana. I dont think he has done anything in a liverpool shirt to warrant comparison with those two legends. Currently his contribution is less than Kewell and Benayoun.

Of course, he has suffered from playing alongside poor quality strikers. While he has a nice touch, is an elegant player, and occasionally displays nice skills, very few of them lead to uncomfortable situations to the defenders. His crosses are mainly Pennant style floaty crosses which are easy to defend. None of those risky first time crosses or those whipped in with power and verve style crosses which are so difficult to defend.

I would expect a top quality attacking midfielder to run with the ball into dangerous areas, make the defenders backtrack, and create panic. Suarez used to do that every three to five minutes. Most of them did not lead to goals or assists but they do mentally and physically wear the defenders out. Hazard did that brilliantly last season. I just dont see Lallana doing that.

Outside of the goals and assists column, statistically he looks good - runs a lot, crosses a lot, etc. But I just dont see the extra bit of quality on a consistent basis.
