Perhaps could've done a wee bit better on their goal but i really like this guy so far. Very cool defender.

Couple of other errors from others for the goal before he got his chance to close down in the box, which was a bit ropey to be fair, but other than that, he was really good tonight against a complete prick of a forward.
Somewhere around 95% pass completion rate, which isn't everything granted, but he was very calm and collected bar one moment of knocking the ball about the back. Even found time to break ahead of the forwards for one moment in the first half.
Partnered with Dejan very well when the going got tough in the second half, ably assisted by Clyne keeping Hazard in his box all game.

Hansen/Agger in his use of the ball and willingness to play out with it - that moment between him and Mignolet was hilarious (almost in a black comedy fashion though!), Matip clearly not yet fully conversant with the keepers lack of technique.

lallana at fault for the goal more than matip imo, got bounced off matić like a schoolboy about 30m from goal and then had to sprint back and made that naive sliding tackle.


matip has looked very good so far, costa hardly had a touch last night.

Moment in the game last night where he poked the ball away from a Chelsea player who was about 8 foot away from him. Immense.
