Played well - good to have someone commanding in the air at the back too.

Just slightly disappointed he didn't take the ball into midfield, or even attempt to. He did it brilliantly at Schalke, (often followed up by a needle splitting pass between the channels) which gives the opposing team something different to think about.

Early days yet, he ended up right wing against Spurs at one point so maybe Klopp has told him to reign it in. Either that or the more likely reason, he's just settling in still getting back to full fitness.

He's great. We just need to get a settled partnership going, haven't had a proper partnership that lasts season in season out for god knows how long, even this season we are on our third. It'll probably be with Lovren given Sakho's plight plus he's never too far from an injury either.

I actually thought that he was very good with Lucas to be honest. Every time I see Lucas at CB, i think he should be there more often.

I know Lucas fecked up for their goal - but he was instrumental in both of our first goals. His ball to Milner was a simple one but he played it at the right pace onto his right foot. And for our second goal he took the ball out of defense and played the right ball into the feet of the striker.......

When I saw the line up, you are thinking with Lucas and Milner as part of the back 4 that we are on a hiding to nothing.......but they were both very good.

I think Moreno will struggle to displace Milner.


Getting back to Matip, he looks like the signing of the season material. Right age, free transfer and improves the team.

You know what as well, we could all look back in a years time and applaud Klopp for not signing the wrong players if the right ones were not available. For me, Matip and Mane will improve the first 11. Hopefully Karius will as well. And Wjinaldum will be a brilliant squad player to have.

Finally we look like we might have had a good summer transfer activity.....

Thought Lucas was very good too, although he did make another defensive error when he lost sight of Vardy (I think) and allowed him clean through on goal. I’d be more worried about that than the f*ck up for the goal, but as it was his first game back I’m happy to put both mistakes down to rustiness.

Positionally hes good, hes comfortable on the ball, has a good turn of pace and is decent in the air

My only concern for Lucas at the back is when he is up against pace, but he must have done OK against Vardy. Lucas/Milner can defintely get exposed against some attacks though.

He's probably slightly slower than both Klavan and Lovren, but positionally he's better and much better on the ball. Plus I like him, I'd like to see him on the pitch more.
