Very good performance against Ipswich. Let's see how he gets on defensively when the competition ramps up.

Your loathing of one of best players is dead odd. What’s he done to you?

He's a cert for Real. Unless we pull out all the stops, I.e a captaincy and top earner contract. But real have shifted to getting generational talents on frees, so regardless I think he's a goner.

How do you think it was more structured? He was inverted plenty of times, popping up centrally.

Yeah one of the best performances I have seen for him over the past year or so.

Decent in attack but happily quite solid and hard working in defence.

His performances this season have been good, no player likes coming off and Slot's approach is very different to Klopp's. Trent has only ever had Klopp as a club manager, it will take some getting used to.

In terms of his future, who knows what's going on, we all hope he signs a new contract, but if not we just need him to keep playing well this season and leave on a high.

Think his strop after the final whistle was totally childish, but hopefully just a case of it being a one off tantrum getting a bit out of hand than anything else.

After him releasing the statement of wanting to deal with stuff behind closed doors, it is not a good look to act like a child after the final whistle and just writes the BS headlines for the hacks.

A sour face after being subbed off one can understand and accept (even if it does not look great) as that is just the reaction of someone who wants to stay on and make a difference on the pitch.

3 things i found annoying with his tantrum:

                          1) we were 2-0 up, the game was done (more or less), it wasn’t like he was subbed due to Slot not liking what he had done, was about keeping him fresh for next weekend, and more importantly, giving Bradley some minutes, so I don’t really get what he was annoyed about.

                          2) with the new manager coming in, you’re not making his job any easier by creating silly headlines and giving him questions to answer in the press conferences etc. after 2 wins to start the season, it should be all positive vibes. One thing to be annoyed coming off, but to still be in a tantrum after the full time whistle is a joke.

                          3) you have a young promising player coming on to replace him, he’s putting more pressure on Bradley with this kinda ****e. Trent’s vice captain and supposedly future captain material- he should be cheering Bradley on, not whining when he gets a 20 min run out. If Trent is moving on next summer, Bradley needs to be ready to take over from him, and we need to use this season to get him ready- so Trent needs to either sign the contract, or get used to this seasons role of doing a handover to Bradley.
                          I don't tip

                            Yep to all of that.

Have the sour face coming off as that is fine imo. That's just being pissed when you feel you have more to offer.

But once you are off and had a couple minutes to get past your own hang up, you then make sure to urge the team on and when the final whistle goes you do not continue that mardiness and push away team mates who are trying to gee you up a bit.

As said, hopefully a once off little sulk by a grown man who is in turn a bit ashamed of it, and not a sign of things to come.

A once off thing he can grow and learn from.

What did he do after the whistle?

I saw him be dour when he came off and the manager talking to him while. stonefaced on the bench. Thats forgivable, imho.

But being ina strop 25 minutes later. TBH I would give him a bollocking and strip him of the vicecaptaincy if it happens again. He has given zero indication of staying and expects to be treated better than everyone else.

Final whistle went and he was still doing the stroppy face thing and was caught on camera shrugging off team mates that were trying to put an arm around him or celebrate with him.

That's the bit I have an issue with, but maybe it was just a blip and just requires a private chat from Slot. No repeats = no problem imo.
