I think when he kisses the badge etc, that's what pisses me off. I'm just a local kid who dream came through. **** off.

I hope we win the league before he comes back and then the Slotster doesn't play him any more tbh. It should all be about looking forward then imo and would prefer to see some kid who is going to be here next year get some minutes then.

I can see Trent coming out with some bollocks like lfc didn't do enough to keep him etc.

Learning should be that we should have sold the guy last summer

      Trying to formulate my thoughts:

      - Even though it was glaringly obvious it is still gutting to see him leave.
      - Leaving a title winning Liverpool side when you are a local lad seems hard to forgive? It's not like we are **** like when Gerrard wanted to leave. We could easily win the league again next year. So why go?
      - I hate everything about Real Madrid
      - I think if he'd done this at 30ish I'd be fine with it. But he's obviously had this planned since his mid 20s so to be planning your exit from your boyhood club as a local lad in your mid 20s just feels wrong?

We've had his best years, performance wise.
Seen him arse around for far too long. The odd good game, some great passing contributions still.
Was it a decline, or is he saving himself for his new club
This has obviously been planned out for quite a while, and it has stopped his club getting a transfer fee if he'd been more open about his intentions.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

It's all well and good saying we should have sold him last summer, but he has to agree terms with any new club, and he could simply have refused and held out for his Bosman.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

Completely different dynamic with him and Kerkez. We can offer a similar threat to how PSG terrorized us on the flanks.

Slot may well favour a mix of directness and control on the right flank going forward and if TAA leaves, then Slot gets a clean slate upon which to create his own set up.

As said in other posts, even if it is Frimpong we may well not play Frimpong at RB and instead use him as a winger or pair him with a RM that has a high workrate and go with a more central creative force at AM instead of it being our RW as we have done for years now.

As far as TAA goes, he has honoured his contract whether we as supporters like it or not. Same goes for the club in relation to TAA.

Biggest thing now is for players, supporters etc to get a collective mindset going with regards to the title race. Trying to win the title is bigger than any of the players that might leave.
The club has a responsibility for not losing its best young assets for free. Everyone has their job to do and the club didn't do theirs here.

Jeez, he’s not as big as loss as some are making out, he has been bang average for the past couple of years, he doesn’t want to be here, yeah he’s going on a free but we didn’t pay anything for him. I’m looking forward to change, and I have no doubt we’ll be absolutely fine without him. Why blame the club? It’s his decision at the end of the day. I’m completely unperturbed about this ‘news’.

End of the day no matter what spin the player, his agent or associated journos try to push, it is the player that wanted the move and the player that decided to run down his contract (which he is entitled to do) so any future talk of not getting enough love ( ie being offered even sillier money) from the club is bullcrap.

Not ( I hope ) going to get into slagging him off if he goes, and will be far more interested in seeing what Slot does with that position going forward than what happens with TAA elsewhere.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Understood. My point, he's a saleable asset that would generate a lot of revenue. Trent has a job to defend and do other things on the pitch. The club has a job to prevent these things from happening. Everyone has a job to do.....

And if the club has offered him an improved contract for four years and the player said no, is that the club's fault?

End of the day the player has the choice to honour their contract and not accept another one. If a player decides to do that, the club cannot sell the player and the club cannot force them to sign a new contract.

All the club can do is offer better terms and hope the player is happy to stay at the club on bigger wages, but there comes a point where the offer cannot go any higher.

If TAA wants out, that's his prerogative, and if the club offered him more to stay then they have done their bit too.

Sometimes a crap situation is just a crap situation (like three players all looking like they might run down their contracts (though I still think VVD will re sign) ) and moving on from it is the best thing for all involved.

Whatever the case. It's done. I'm hoping to complete the League, win it, then hopefully move on to a Frimpong/Kerkez fullback partnership for next season.

I have a different perspective and I've shared that. No need to labour the point. We disagree. All good. On to smashing Neverton....
