          He just wasn’t expecting the ball to behave like that, it was so perfectly executed that it completely wrong footed him

            he never has a clue where the ball is he knows Salah has the run on him so turns to chase and then the ball motors past him also. It’s an incredible pass it literally curls around the defender.

                            Because this about him being able to say that the club turned down getting money for him, he didn’t want to leave on a free. He knows full well the club would turn it down as he’s given them no indication he wants to leave, as yet.

                            This is already a game about his reputation IMO.

                                Liverpool have rejected an approach from Real Madrid to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold permanently in January.

                                The Spanish side made contact with the Anfield hierarchy, but their interest was immediately rebuffed on Tuesday.

                                The conversation did not reach the stage at which numbers were mentioned, with Liverpool offering no encouragement to Real.

                                Liverpool’s stance appears to kill off Alexander-Arnold leaving in January as an option, although there remains the prospect of the England international moving to the Bernabeu in the summer.

                                Alexander-Arnold is out of contract at the end of the season and from January 1 can officially speak to foreign clubs about a free transfer.
