I’m sure there are some pretty good RBs out there who would be happy to jump on board in January and win themselves a PL medal.

This is already a game about his reputation IMO.

It seems like his agent or whoever has told Madrid to put a bid in, both he and Madrid knew it would be rejected. But it allows him to say they could have got money for him, but the club chose to hang on and let him leave on a free so fans will be less angry at him when he goes. It feels that games are being played here. But I am not surprised by any of thisThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

100% this. I’m sure players wouldn’t want to leave when we are top of the table either.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostI wouldn't take any money for any of the 3 now. Win the league and if they want to go so be it.
All focus should be purely on the league. Everything else is a distraction.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Marca and AS have literally been saying this would happen for the past week.
This whole thing with being able to sign a pre contract agreement stinks in my books.

Or Madrid have done this knowing it will drive a wedge between Trent and fans. Divide and conquer - seems to be working.Originally posted by Exiled_red View Post

I’m not even sure it would be legally enforceable in the UK as it may constitute ‘an agreement to agree’, which is not a valid form of contract.Originally posted by SB View Post

So you’re saying you think a player could get out of it if they changed their mind in the final 6 months of their existing contract? I don’t like the fact that OS Clubs can approach players in the last 6 months as it disrupts things potentiallyOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostI’m not even sure it would be legally enforceable in the UK as it may constitute ‘an agreement to agree’, which is not a valid form of contract.

I guess an agreement with Madrid would be governed by Spanish law, which I have zero idea about.Originally posted by SB View PostSo you’re saying you think a player could get out of it if they changed their mind in the final 6 months of their existing contract?
