I don’t think he will make a third season at Madrid.
Can see him disappointing them and then no longer being flavour of the month
He’s coming in on a free, they will discard quickly if he isn’t performing consistently well.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

Nicely played to bring that up as a way to try and deflect
Not sure if you have heard, but Tomasz and Pawel have a banner up in the car park at the old place.
Not sure what it means though.

If we sign someone like Frimpong I think we'll be fine, when Trent is off it, he's next to useless. Would be interesting to see more energy on the flanks in the form of players like Frimpong/Bradley and Kerkez. But I can see Hughes and Edwards signing someone we wouldn't think of.Originally posted by rudedog View PostWe will need to adapt without him, we looked absolutely devoid of ideas after he went off against PSG (and also the Newcastle game). I think he will be a huge loss.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

This. Our spreadsheet boys will probably pull out some absolute stat monster none of us have ever heard of and we'll move on.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostIf we sign someone like Frimpong I think we'll be fine, when Trent is off it, he's next to useless. TBH, no Bradley in those games & Quansah a RB so understandable that we suffered in a attacking senseOriginally posted by rudedog View PostWe will need to adapt without him, we looked absolutely devoid of ideas after he went off against PSG (and also the Newcastle game). I think it's obvious that he's been setting this up for a while.Originally posted by Catrin View PostI watched The Overlap earlier (still unemployed so what the hell) and one of the comments on YouTube was that Trent had turned down a 6yr deal the last time as he only wanted 4yrs, and by 2023 was already talking to Madrid. Sounds plausible as it will have been around the time his mate will have been talking to them as well.
I have to wonder how transparent or otherwise he has been with the club.
Hope we are done negotiating, the damage is done for me, I don't want him around.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

That's a good point - even Gomez would have offered more at RB in those gamesOriginally posted by S-RED View PostTBH, no Bradley in those games & Quansah a RB so understandable that we suffered in a attacking sense
Our new RB doesn't have to be the best passer in our team any more - he just needs have the engine to get up and down the pitch, the positional nous and awareness to not lose many 1-1 defensive duels and the ability to put in effective crosses. Not easy to find all that, of course, but a lot easier than just to replace Trent like for like
A lot more of our creativity will come through the middle in Slot's second season I'm sure
