Kids have this quite often though, dips in form and concentration followed by bursts of quality. They all get it when they start off, we can expect the same of Neco, Curtis, Rhys etc. They find it much harder to keep the same consistency when they're that age. We forget how young Trent is sometimes.

Agree with this. My 18 year old daughter has long covid since March and is barely living at 40% of her full capacity. Same with our 14 year old neighbour. Maybe athletes can compensate but I've heard marathon runners, etc, be reduced to being knackered after a 5 minute jog.Originally posted by Fredo View PostIf Trent had long covid, he wouldn't have been anywhere near that team.
On this note I'm worried about Mane too. He doesn't have that same pizzazz to his game. Full backs are finding it easier than they should against him.One tit for another.

The drop off in quality has been quite blatant. He is a worldie and maybe just is having a poor season and struggling for form. No pre season and the covid absence can't have helped. He looks so lethargic and slow on the ball, maybe just put it down to him going through a bad spell. The thing is he is so important to the way we play and when you compare he to Robbo who has been rampaging up and down that left side all season.. there is a huge difference in performance between the two.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostLong covid is my guess. Pretty sure he had it, and Bob made a great point the other day about him glugging Red Bull before every game (he was at it again last night).

Mane does look absolutely exhausted. Part of me thinking the 2 week circuit breaking idea could be great for our lads.

If one doesn't come we could always 'do a City'Originally posted by danperkins View Post

I wouldn't be arsed if we had an 'outbreak' and had to forfeit our FA cup tie, that would give us almost two weeks between games. The only problem (aside from it being dodgy) is that we don't tend to play well after a break.

Sorry to hear this Chief. There are still so many thing with this ****er of a disease we don't understand and unfortunately i know one or two people in a similar situation. I hope she can make a full recovery soon.Originally posted by BigChief View PostAgree with this. My 18 year old daughter has long covid since March and is barely living at 40% of her full capacity. As for Trent. Its easy to forget he is a 21 year old coming off the back of 3 very intense years in both footballing and more general terms. We should not be surprised that he is inconsistent, indeed looking across the entire league there has been no stand out, consistent player of note. I will caveat that by saying outside of the Liverpool matches this is based upon MotD and FF so I am sure I will be proven wrong by somebody who actually watches more football than me. Which these days is probably most people

Thanks Norbs and R&W. Its sickening that so few GPs in this country accept it's real. But that's for another thread.Originally posted by RedAndWhite View PostSorry to hear this Chief. It does seem like our players are going through the normal phase of exhaustion rather than lingering illness. Same with most clubs. Utd will hit their's soon enough. Hopefully, Shaq, Ox, Thiago and soon Jota can add the thrust to the finish line. One tit for another.
