Just watching the footage of him climbing front the pitch up to the stand using the railing.

News reports saying that the woman that was against the railing on the stand at the point where he climbed up is either his wife/girlfriend or a relative.

He and the other players then plough forward into the melee from that point. If that is his wife/girlfriend (and she seems to say something to him and then point towards someone or someones in the Colombian shirts), it looks more and more like he and the other players got between the attackers and the families and then just went for the attackers.

He always gets into the right positions. You cannot fault his effort. No matter what Harv says.

Think if there was abuse or worse being aimed at family members, then players are going to think the worst and angry shouting and shoving would look like an attack on their loved ones.

Just the perception of your family being attacked amidsts some chaos would be enough to spark a full on reaction.

Don’t get your point tbh. Sorry that I don’t condone one of our players trying to throw a chair into a group of fans! He could have seriously hurt someone, ffs. And regardless of whatever may have happened in the stands, the chair could have hit some innocent person who didn’t do a thing to his family, and was just there to enjoy watching a game of football.

I get that he might have felt his family were in danger but I'm still not sure that gives him carte blanche to go do whatever he likes? He completely lost it and throwing chairs (or trying to) into stands and charging in heavy handed probably wasn't appropriate behaviour?

I've defended him as a footballer, but I am uncomfortable defending this type of aggressive behaviour to be honest.

Its bizarre. Throw in the completely different cultures here too. You have a perfect storm with the emotional, hair-trigger South Americans that still kick off at each other first chance they get and then the overly PC, bedwetting English media, content-whores on twitter and Kenneth, who are foaming at the mouth at such an incident can still happen this day and age
