He made a bee line to the perosn who was swinging at one of his teammates. Then he swung on someone else who was swinging at them onnthe way there. He had their back. And you mention Suarez, many people on here defended him when he racially abused Evra. I was criticized on here for criticizing Suarez at the time. **** Suarez.
    Priorities eh....

More reports coming in now that Darwin's two year old kid was in the section that the Colombian supporters swarmed and that Darwin and the other players, when it got feisty, had placed themselves between their retreating family members and the people being abusive thowards those family members.

And pretty much red mist all round at that point.

No idea how accurate that report is but there is video online now of Darwin leaving the stand and making a beeline for a small child with a woman who had gotten from the stand to the pitch in that section, and then holding that child in his arms.

Seems Ugarte's mother had to be carried from the same stand after she either passed out or was knocked out after the Colombian's rushed into where the families were.

I’m speculating that their families weren’t under attack? I would say everyone else is speculating that they were- just because a player said so? Beating in mind he would have a motivation to find a compelling reason why they were fighting fans in the stand…

I’ve seen multiple angles of players fighting, but haven’t seen any clips of their families in danger- not saying that the lack of clips proves it didn’t happen, just saying I’m skeptical. It would take the players some time to get up into the stands- if their families were under attack, surely at least one of them would have suffered a punch or two in that time- let’s see if that’s the case, is all I’m saying…

I don’t think I’ve been in the Darwin Nunez hate club. I’ve generally been of the mindset of give him a third year, but it’s make or break time for him. I’m not basing my opinion on any hate/social media, I’m just saying, players fighting with fans is a bad look and they need to explain themselves- if they’re saying they were saving their families because the police weren’t doing it, ok what are we talking about here?? Were Darwin’s children hurt? His wife?? Why exactly was he throwing a chair at a group of fans??

Prob a columbian child that he was holding as hostage.

Either way, I doubt the authorities will accept vigilantism as a significant mitigation.

It all seemed pretty calm until the players piled in:

He’s a loon, and his behaviour is going to cost him and us.

There will 100% be enough footage to determine what actually went on. Its just a matter of waiting and not jumping to conclusions… which obviously isn’t going to happen, one way or another.

You saw clips and that's it. Wait on the full facts, investigation and maybe what wasn't recorded before drawing conclusions. It's the adult thing to do.

Diaz went straight to Nunez after Nunez came back on the pitch and tried to console him.

                              Agile fecker is Nunez.

Just watching the footage of him climbing front the pitch up to the stand using the railing.

News reports saying that the woman that was against the railing on the stand at the point where he climbed up is either his wife/girlfriend or a relative.

He and the other players then plough forward into the melee from that point. If that is his wife/girlfriend (and she seems to say something to him and then point towards someone or someones in the Colombian shirts), it looks more and more like he and the other players got between the attackers and the families and then just went for the attackers.
