I like listening to Boycott but mainly to laugh at him. You're right Blowers doesn't offer great insight but he's a lovely listen.
Warne is very good, I really like Jim Maxwell on TMS too. Also thought Jeremy Coney was awesome when we were playing NZ.

You listen to Warne and wonder why he was never captain. Offers a captain's insight, really really interesting. Immense understanding of the game - the likes him of him, Athers and Nasser are similar in that respect. And the fact they all absolutely ****ing love the game and love what they do now really shines through.

Trouble is you listen to every other Aussie from his era and you get why he wasn't

Gilchrist was on about how he hated doing team bonding stuff like the boot camps before the Ashes. Just went because he had too.
        *Except Michael, who died.

Him and Gilly never got on though so it's no surprise he said that, although it is probably true ha! Never realised at the time, so they hid it well! In the same way I never knew Athers and Stewart weren't mates, Athers has since said they never hung out together and had little in common, but were able to have a good working relationship because they respected each other. He said you don't have to like someone to play with them as long as you respect them. **** like that must go on in sides all the time and you don't hear about it. I think in the eyes of the management Warne was just too much of a rock star and not in the traditional no nonsense mould that Australian captains were expected to be, plus they weren't exactly short of options back then. Clarke is the exception to that rule, but then they have no other options available to them!

FWIW I think Warne would have made an excellent captain and would make an excellent coach. He earns too much money to bother with coaching though

How many decent bowling captains have there been? off the top of my head I can't think of many and most of them were disasters. Must be difficult to juggle bowling and captaining the side, too much to think about. When you're batting all you have to think about is batting, much easier I reckon.

              Flintoff was an absolute disaster.

You rest your case? You say it doesn't lie, period. I explain the technology and that the inventor says it makes mistakes, and then you go from hotspot being infallible to we shouldn't use it at all? You been at the glue? You're making less sense than you usually do.
Whats wrong with that? I think of all the technology on hand its the most infallible. If something has made contact with the bat causing friction it will get picked up, (bar the possible faintest of touches) its a glorified thermal camera after all...its then up to the powers that be to decide if its the ball or pad hitting the bat.

But i also believe they shouldn't use it or use it for every decision or not at all. Theres no point having it if you still **** up decisions as we've already seen.

Is that ok with you, you know it all cunt?

A couple of Ashes victories and you lot are cocky as ****

Why is it that in cricket, its the defence that does the scoring? Thats weird.

The defensive quarter line backer is the most important position in the game

Rugby League. That's their 1 remaining sacred sanctuary.

It's utter ****e but we need to develop a team to dominate them anyway.
