    na i didn't

i use the adidas micoach app so from today i will start to log it and add details in here...however i usually just monitor it in km

i'm not looking to run miles and miles - my aim is two or three times a week (depending on footy/work) to go for a 20-30 minute jog, looking to do between 3km and 5km each run.

but i need to get into the routine of it....and me being competitive, being involved in some sort of table like this will hopefully drag me out

I use a running pack which I leave around my waist, like this one

and leave it on my lower back, apparently better for the gps signal. don't tend to notice the phone/bulk. I enjoy bettering my stats to, slightly geeky I know!

I've been using the Micoach app too (see screenshot in my last post) and like it but I bought the Micoach pacer bundle and don't think it integrates at all well when using a phone as your GPS. You an use the pedometer/pacer and HR monitor but everything routes though the pacer device which gives instructions. I'd be really interested to hear if you've worked out how to utilize both. Micoach has lots of HR features in the training schedule and these are wasted IMO.

No joke but I carry around my Galaxy Note in a fanny pack. The armband ones etc are only decent for normal sized phones but Sweatshop had one that my phone just about squeezes in to
cheers for the recommendation on the music, iv just signed up to spotify so il have a look if its on there.

well I don't have the accessories as of yet. I was looking into getting the heart rate monitor and pacer as it means I can use it in the gym. did you sync yours to your galaxy? I think if I get it I will use the pacer and hrm in the gym for when im on the treadmill but when im out and about I will just use the hrm.

I used the 'assessment' training plan a few weeks ago which gave me my zones. I went on a run the other day and I tried to stay in the yellow zone for ten minutes (reckons 6:30 per mile) which nearly killed me, I had to walk for a bit, so I am hoping the heart rate monitor will increase my zone times as my little legs (im 5'8'') cannot run that fast.

where did you buy yours from? little worried I may purchase the wrong thing as there are a few options when looking at the addidas online shop.

Just about to go for a run now actually.

Have recently started light jogging again every other day in preparation for the Conwy half marathon in November.

I wanted to do it last year but did my groin in playing football so I've pretty much completely stopped playing now. My groin still doesn't feel right but I need to get back running again so got the Garmin Forerunner charged and I'm ready to roll.

Only doing 20-25 minute jogs for the time being and then eventually going to try and stick to this routine once I manage to get a few miles under my belt but that won't be for a few weeks yet.

As for running whether it's night or day I wear running tights, Underarmour coldgear long sleeve base layer with a t-shirt on top, a zip up top such as a football training top and then my fluroescent lightweight waterproof Madison cycling top over that as I'm a pussy and can't stand the cold ha ha!

Oh, and some proper running gloves too.

                  All the gear, no idea.

We all know how you injured your groin.

I was under the impression that the pacer kit couldn't be connected to an Android phone. I'd bin the pacer and just use the HR monitor and dongle that goes on my shoes. I might have to bin them all and find a Bluetooth HR monitor and pedometer

If you're running at night try not to slip over in the dog****e that will inevitably be lurking on an unlit pavement somewhere.

Aiming for the same amount tomorrow. Would like to have best part of 10 miles under my belt by Saturday lunchtime.

Does walking count? I do a lot of walking.

Walking, or mincing while puffing on a fag as you do, does not count
