Thanjk you.

Christ no. He does not have enough footballing ability to play as a withdrawn forward or any other position.
He is a simple, crude battering ram
Are you related to him?
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
The frustrating part is he was bought to help Suarez. Because of his very slow start he really isnt. Hindsight and all that but I still think we shouldnt of bought him in january since this made the whole stupid 35mill fee thing happen. We could of got him for far less in this transfer window, not forgetting he was still injured when we got him so waiting wouldnt of hurt. I think another thing to think about would be how would we have reacted were it UTD or chelsea instead of us who bought him for 35mill in january. Would we be laughing at them or saying 'what a great buy wish we got him but we cant afford 35mill on such a class player'?

With what? Getting pissed?
Suarez was bought to play with Torres. When Torres left we had to make a clear statement of intent, and not just sit on the money and allow our striking options to be severely undermined. It's been said before, but people need to stop talking about Carroll being £35m, and accept that he was swapped for Torres and £15m. His wage bill is also far less than we'd be paying for a lot of other strikers.
Plus he's scored more than Torres since the move, despite playing fewer games.
Give him time, and I think that he'll become a really effective player for us.
I agree about Carroll but it was widely rumoured before the end of January that Suarez was bought to replace Torres. Who knows for sure but I doubt Torres's departure was all that much of a shock to the senior management at the club.

I think we had to buy a striker then. If he was our long term target he was the logical choice. There was a genuine chance of 4th in January and we had to go for it.
I think worrying about transfer fees is a fools game - you never really know the financial implications of anything. It seems likely that overall our dealings since FSG have taken over have left us in a much better state on and off the pitch to me.

Thats true. But I think its ok to talk about price as he did cost us 35mill, which is nothing to sniff at. I mean a year ago we could of only dreamed of spending that much on someone. But I believe he was bought because he was english too. I mean we could think up a few names that would cost less then that and be considered as huge stars, but we went with him. Hopefully he'll turn good but at the moment I pretty much feel the same way as when we bought Ngog. And thats not to be twisted as saying he's on par with Ngogs average skill. I just believe we could of done better.

Only if there were plenty willing to join. I heard a pundit on Sky the other day talking about the level of debt that Liverpool have - we don't have any, and this is nearly a year since FSG bought us out. If there is that level of ignorance amongst people who are supposed to know that kind of detail nearly a year later, the confusion in the first transfer window about the resources and ambition at Liverpool could have put the better end of the market off.
I agree with you on the whole though, I think we would have been better off waiting, see how he coped a full season in, see how his injury healed and if it was still on, get him in then. At the moment he is more Marcus Stewart than Didier Drogba.
I understand the concept of statement of intent, but that could have been better served in the window that just "slammed shut"
