Let's hope for Carroll's sake that happens sooner rather than later.
So why did Hendo play yesterday? The lad may have bags of potential but i fail to see anything he brings to the game at the moment. You forget hes even on the pitch until he pops up and makes a mistake.

Carroll looks slow and lethargic. Always out of position and making bad decisions. He seriously needs to get a goal or two for his confidence but we cant afford to cater to it, we need wins! Bellamy has to start with suarez for me.

And then i'll clarify what they say, with our roving North East reporter, Rowan.
Conversations about Carroll in this part of the world have changed dramatically over the past month or so. There are less people saying he's unplayable for a start. It's all general Geordie happy clapping stuff, Craig. 'Well, ye kna he's geet from tha toon, like an when yee wear der black n whoite short ye gannin ti put in a geet shift, ye kna. He's a geordie, ye kna. it's diffurint when ye playing fer the toon ti Liverpool if yer a Geordie'. That's usually followed up with some **** about being the best fans in the world etc etc.

And similar bollocks. I disagree and still think he's going to be class for us (although at this moment I've forgotten quite why I came to that conclusion).
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

What's the point in saying he can't help the fee when that's exactly why we are concerned? We had various needs in the squad which needed filling and, whilst I an trying my best to reseve judgement, Carroll isn't even performing at the level of a £10m signing as present. Both Carroll and Henderson (I exclude Downing here cos I think he was doing well til we switched him to the right) were bought either as British players that could hit the ground running (which they aren't) or as long-term investments. If it's the latter, I won't write them off, but they should be on the bench and I would argue we aren't in a position squad-wise or financially to spunk £50m on sq
          squaddies.

Longer term, I think Henderson could be a good signing but I'm struggling to see that the Carroll £35m could not have been invested more sensibly elsewhere given the plethora of holes in the team back in Jan.
          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

because te price is up to comolli and dalglish. if you want to complain about the price, talk about them. if you want to complain about the football, then you can talk about carroll.

I'd love to know who was the driving force behind each signing.

                Think a couple are blatant:

Coates - Comolli. Pretty much a fact.
                Suarez - Comolli?

The rest I have no idea about, and although I'm sure there were players they were agreed on, there has to have been one driving force behind each transfer IMO.

Just few weeks ago most thought he was great against Bolton and he followed that up with a very good performance for England U21 and now he should have not played vs Spurs cause he didn't score against Stoke (and yes he should have)...

He is a young player that will have up and down type of a season and he is still getting adjusted to his new teammates and pressure that comes for playing for a big club.

I'd stick with him for time being but then again that is my personal opinion.
As I said, he's keeping better players out of the team. Not saying he's a bad player, but he's not at the level to command a starting place every week for us.

Bollocks, it's all in the same discussion. You cannot divorce the 2 without having a fully coherent & considered argument on the matter.

Suarez was definitely a Comolli signing. I'm sure I read Kenny saying that he'd been lined up before he was appointed manager.

Regarding Carroll, I was really frustrated by him yesterday. There were a couple of times when he had the ball out wide, he played it to the winger / full back and actually ran away from the goal to offer himself for a pass, instead of busting a gut to get into the box so we actually had someone to aim for.

I think he's low on confidence to be honest. He really needs a big performance and hopefully he can kick on from there. He looks a shadow of the player who was unplayable against us last season.

I look at his attributes and there's still plenty to be positive about. He can still develop into the player we all hope will become, but it's not going to be an overnight thing. Saying that, I bet even Kenny has questioned himself over the signing.

He's obviously very good but I don't get how he's being managed at the moment.

Dropped for Bolton and Stoke games then suddenly thrown in at the deep end away to Spurs. WTF??

I disagree. Carroll didn't buy himself or set his fee. I am complaining about Comolli and dalglish over the price, and about Comoli and dalglish about the football.

We need to buy a winger who can put crosses in to him.
