And his chest control was great today. Not at the standard of Crouch's, but still, a big leap forward.

Still not keen on him but today he looked like a top drawer striker. Really deserved a goal after today's performance because he ****ing deserved one.

I just hope he can kick on from here.

Dalglish: on Carroll, Everybody knows Andy powers in the air. We will help him to get his game up to our style, no disrespect 2 Newcastle

Dalglish on Carroll: "He is good in the air but he we have to develop that, he has to develop it and he has got to work within our framework

Dalglish: We will work with him and we will be a lot more patient than a lot of people
Confirms what I was hoping. Kenny's doing a 'Mascherano' on him. Should reap the benefits then. Must really have faith in him.

See this proves to me it's all about Andy's attitude, I said a few pages back , When I was watching his demolition jobs for the barcodes he was a total beast and a ****ing nightmare for any defence .

It seems to me that it's about fitness and desire and when I say fitness I mean mentally fit and attitude, BUT today he was up for it and this is what drives me mad , On today's performance he can be a big part of the King's plans

He was fantastic today. Some more games like that and the goals will come.

Agree with most of the comments made about his performance today, one thing which hasn't been mentioned, I thought he looked a lot lighter on his feet today and didn't look like the lumbering hulk that he has done recently.

He has a bit of confidence now, I hope Kenny doesn't park him for the Wolves game.

tbh, i was quite surprised he was first choice today and that he even stayed 90min on the pitch. but he did good job..unlucky for goal.

He did seem a lot more nimble / quicker on his toes.

I was impressed with his performance today. He's got a long way to go to convince me (and others I would guess), but you'd be a harsh man to give him stick today.

                      i was thinking the same.

That said he needs way more service and support than he got today cause otherwise you'll not get the best out of him as he is not a player that can create on his own.

Only Stevie's cross late in the first half and few Enrique crosses towards the end was all service he got and if that is all he will get vs. Wolves then we can't expect too much of him.

He showed he can put a shift in today. If he does the same again on Tuesday regardless of the service he gets the team will profit from it. I do agree he got piss all service, but nothing new there.

There is no getting away from Carroll's poor performances in a LFC shirt for the most part, but what i will say is that the service he gets if nothing short of embarrassing.

Put in a great shift today and we got some productive from him in the form an assist.

Something to build on, let's hope he does

He needs to play the next game. Unlike a lot of others I've never wanted to get rid and still think he could prove his worth and be devastating with time.

He wasn't quite as bad as he usually is today.

First 65 minutes or he was ineffective but I suppose Utd were dominating possession so Andy didn't see much of the ball but tbh I thought he was awful until the last 10/15 min when tbf he did raise his game.
Hopefully today can be a a first step towards proving himself here, he has a long, long way to go but who knows.........

Brilliant day for Big Andy, worked his arse off, was a constant threat, won aerial duels, won freekicks, dropped off and linked the play and got another assists. Only thing was missing was a goal, hit the bar again, how unlucky can one lad get?

                                Keep it up Andy
