Nope, we paid the whole thing upfrontOriginally posted by Shanks View PostI'm sure there is a lovely breakdown of how we are paying this 35 million, that will make everyone feel much better..
Just like the Aquilani saga.
I reckon with clauses, wages, add ons, appearances etc, we've probably not paid out that much..
Or have we?

It was 12k iirc.Originally posted by Jack D Rips View PostWe actually paid 50k extra cos the payment was a day late.
Yup.
Derek Llambias, the man who brokered the deal that made Andy Carroll the most expensive Englishman in football history, has sensationally claimed: “He’s worth f*** all!”
The Toon MD’s disparaging verdict on England striker Carroll (below) came when he was giving a group of Newcastle fans an insight into the £35million deal that took the England striker to Liverpool in January.
Llambias insists that Newcastle got the better of the deal.
The Anfield club’s first bid was £30m and Llambias told the fans: “I have to admit that £30m for Andy Carroll is a lot of money.”
When one supporter asked him “Is he worth £30m?” Llambias responded: “No — he’s worth f*** all.” He then explains that after rejecting the £30m offer, Newcastle refused to sell even for £35m unless Liverpool paid the entire fee up front.
A move that forced Liverpool to ask Chelsea to increase their first instalment of the £50m they had already agreed to pay for Fernando Torres!
Llambias explained: “It is about control.
“We had the control. We knew the Torres deal was there.
“We drew that f****** deal, perhaps the ultimate.
“So £30m? F*** off! Don’t waste my time and I slammed the phone down.
“£35m? Everybody including Pardew [manager Alan Pardew] all agreed.
“But the £35m they wanted to pay over four years. It was rubbish. Mike (Ashley) said — and he is a brave boy Mike I promise you — get all the £35m up front.
“We got it all up front and then they never paid us on time and we charged them 12 grand f****** interest.”I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

I like Andy Carroll, he can be a bit of a **** at times but there is talent there potentially world class talent, we just need to real him in, get him to get his head down, and bend him to our will not the other way around. Some of the best players in the world act like arses consistently.
His taste for the dramatics aside, his overall play has come on in leaps and bounds. I liked him from the first time I seen him in the Premiership, I was over the moon when we signed him and could not care less about the fee. Has he been perfect this season, no, but the team have been all over the shop and the service in to him has been shocking, terrible, outright useless. These days he comes deeper to pick up the ball, he traps the ball well, holds up play well and he no longer has the first touch of a rapist, he just needs to find his scoring boots and he will be off to the races, he is obviously frustrated and I dont blame him.
I honestly think Kenny lost his ****ing Marbles taking him off infront of 40 1000 laughing Gordies, thats going to work wonders for his confidence. But my general feeling now is we are going to have to ride the ****ing storm one more time. Invest again in the summer whilst clearing shop some more. Maxi, Kuyt, Spearing, Carra (coaching), Aqua, Aureio, Adam, Cole, Darby, Pacheo, Gulasci all need to go. Some decent players in there who should demand decent fees, combined with more serious investment, we need to sign one or two worldclass player either in RM, DM or Striker. We need to have a bench with a mixture of game changers and very solid replacements. We are in Europe, we have won a Cup, we need to get out **** together, string some wins together, pull off a cup Double and prepare for an assault on the top 4 next season.Anybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt.
