Poor Andy.

He's going to fall over into an interview and concussion will lead to the best warts-and-all interview ever recorded in the history of the world. The club then lose all of its sponsor and backing meaning we need to sell Gerrard to Japan for £250m just because that kind of fee is normal for the superstar of the home of Beatles.Hello mert.

And then we must sack Carroll. Even though we'd have already sold him.

Andy Carroll accepts wage cut as West Ham United play hardball

Andy Carroll failed to push through his £100,000-a-week wage demands despite agreeing a six-year contract to move to West Ham United last night.
The England forward, who will undergo a medical today, is believed to have agreed to remain on the £80,000 a week that he earned at Liverpool. He will cost an initial £15.5 million, rising by £2 million based on appearances and success, breaking a West Ham transfer record that was set when Matt Jarvis signed for £11 million from Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer.
Carroll, 24, returned from his holiday in the United States and accepted a permanent move to East London when Newcastle United refused to meet the transfer fee and wage demands. He texted his West Ham team-mates to say, “looks like you got me for another six years, haha”, although the team will be without him for the start of the season because of a heel injury.
West Ham covered Carroll’s full wages during his loan spell last season, when he scored seven goals in the Barclays Premier League, and also paid Liverpool a £2 million fee but were unwilling to go higher. Liverpool will take a significant loss after paying £35 million to Newcastle for the forward in January 2011 as a replacement for Fernando Torres. Carroll would be West Ham’s third signing after Razvan Rat and Adrian, both of whom were free transfers.
The East London club want to sign another forward and have asked to bring in Romelu Lukaku or Demba Ba on loan from Chelsea. West Ham are also interested in Ludovic Sané, the Bordeaux holding midfielder.
Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign Christian Atsu after the Ghana forward rejected the offer of a four-year contract from Porto to seek a move to the Premier League. Atsu, a 21-year-old winger, is likely to cost about £3 million.
Real Madrid are holding the No 11 shirt for Gareth Bale should he decide to leave Tottenham Hotspur. The Spanish club expect to announce Carlo Ancelotti as head coach after July 3 for tax reasons and Paris Saint-Germain remain interested in André Villas-Boas, the Tottenham head coach.
Tottenham have been told by Atlético Mineiro that Bernard, the attacking midfielder, will cost about £21.5 million, at least £6 million more than the North London club are prepared to offer.
Corinthians expect to receive an offer this week from Tottenham for Paulinho, the Brazil midfielder.
Ola Toivonen is holding out for interest from a bigger club after Norwich City agreed a £4.8 million fee for the PSV Eindhoven forward last week.

Chelsea bid £35m for Torres, we bid £20m for Carroll. Both about accurate for the market at the time and the circumstances of each club. Newcastle realised we were desperate to sign Carroll with it being deadline day and said they wanted more. We decided that we wanted £15m plus Carroll based on initial valuations, kept going back to Chelsea as Newcastle demanded more and more for Carroll, and eventually Chelsea paid us £50m for Torres. Very odd circumstances, that led to both Torres and Carroll being saddled with inflated fees that the press could use to beat them with.Originally posted by Joey Jones View PostI still can't understand how we managed to pay 35m for him.
