He wasnt good at all plus he had years on big Andy. Think you should cut him some ****in slack.
I seem to remember old "lurch" getting abuse from the fans coz it took him 19 games to score his first goal and look how that signing turned out. ****in armchair managers and scouts piss me right off and so do moaning ****s who think they know it all. Look at the big picture instead of spilling your bile in the forums.
No, I genuinely think Voronin was better for us than Carroll has been. Carroll to me looks much more out of his depth than Voronin did.

I liked Crouch, you could the positives in Crouch's game, I just don't see the positives in Carroll's game at all.

And FWIW, I never thought Lucas ever was a bad player for us.

To be fair, Crouch contributed more to all-round play, and for a man of his size had very good feet and close control, something that Carroll doesn't seem to have.

I don't think Carroll's career with us is over, he has all the attributes, just imo I think he's doing the wrong things.

Wait, is it that he 'cant' do them? Or now just not great at them?

I cant honestly see that but each to their own I suppose.

Yep, to be fair to Matt, he was always 100% behind Lucas.

              Neither was Voronin

I again refer you to my earlier post you dont see the looks of disgust when Carroll ****s up that you frequently saw when Voronin did

You have to wonder why as surely his teammates are better positioned to judge than you or I

FWIW, this made me laugh properly; it's harsh but he doesn't seem to have the balance you'd expect at that level - he's still a very young player and I'd give him till 18 months on his contract then get rid, he has a ton of potential.

Re; the debate about what was spent or not spent - those who think it was somehow 'Chelsea's money - no it wasn't, don't be daft.

Look up Opportunity Cost and get back to me.

Disagree Carroll has way more commiment than Voronin

Players were in open revolt over Voronin

As for Voronin being able to pass and control a ball you are having a ****ing laugh

I'd go and say that none of them are good enough for the club of our size.

                      Lucas Leiva anyone?
Carroll's game has so many holes that I don't think any time in the world will make the difference nor he has the mental toughness of Lucas.

I think it is becoming glaringly obvious that we made a terrible buy and he is not nearly as good as what our scouts thought he was.

There could be lots of reasons for that. For one, with Kenny trying so hard to foster team spirit, if he were to see that behaviour from players on a regular basis I'm sure he'd put a stop to it.

Secondly, Voronin was regarded as a bit of a prick in the squad, whereas I'm sure Carroll is pretty popular.

I wouldn't read too much into it anyway.

great touch for a big man. I remember that one.
In all seriousness though, Carroll was never a 35m signing. We all know that, but it shouldnt be used as a stick to beat AC with. I have every confidence the big guy will come good in time. Like Kenny said at the time - we signed him for 5 years not 1 season.
