He was ok today especially in the second half.

Could have scored twice at least and had some good crosses that could have easily turned out to be assists.

His biggest problem is that he cannot take a man and doesn't have enough tricks in his arsenal to be a multi dimensional footballer.

That said, one of his better performances imo.

pardon me but he was dross. He had 2-3 games where he had a clear cut chance to shoot with his favorite leg but he pisses the chance down by shooting into the stands.

I've been patient enough with him. He's not a youngster like Henderson or Caroll.

He was crap. Cannot hit the target and should have been pinning Richards back all game. His crossing is ok but he never gets to the byline, instead he pulls up and lays it back to Enrique. Enrique takes on his man more than Downing. He had that volley that should have been on target but ended up looking like and ended up looking like an overhit cross because he missed it so badly. Then he balloons the follow up from Carrolls chance over the bar. I would bench him.

That may be true, but it doesn't tell the whole story. He's hit the woodwork a couple of times and created some great chances that other players have wasted.
