    All players have off days.
apart from all the other games he was poor in.

Do you not wonder why such a great manager keeps playing him every week for, if he's been as poor in as many games as you like to make out.

He'll play against Swansea. For despite his one poor game today, he's still the best option for the LW, and I suspect it will remain that way for at least this season.

No excuses? How about the fact that PL teams arent pub teams?

'dismantling' FFS....Aside from megabucks City and United hammering the worst Arsenal side in years, how often do teams 'dismantle' other PL sides? Be realistic.

I'm hoping the we see a marked improvement in Downing come christmas time, he does the ability and the left foot to make things happen, it's his mentality that concerns me. Anyways he has my support and hopefully he can start improving soon
        In what way?

He'll get time and he'll get a good crack of the whip from Kenny, it's up to him to do the business and i hope he does.
Problem is, at the time you posted this, we'd not had much more than 8 games, so of course people are judging him on those.

And i do hope he gets time, but you seem to have written him off already, judging by what i've seen.

Not really, I think he has been very poor and both Maxi and Bellamy are far superior players.

I'm not writing him off, just merely saying he needs to improve. I'm just judging him on his performances in a LFC shirt and for me and many others he needs to do more. 100% behind the lad but the constructive criticism is not unjust IMO.

Have to say I was more impressed by Riera and possibly Gonzalez at similar stages to their Liverpool careers. Sort yourself out Stewart!!

Obviously he can improve. He's been a touch unlucky too though, hit the woodwork at least twice so far and a lot of his delivery into the box has only lacked someone converting it properly.

He's not been our best performer, but he's contributed and given us something we previously lacked.

He had scored for us by now though. In the end he was ****e.

Seriously mate, are you going by the 'he had scored so he is better' angle?

Of course and that's all i'm saying hendo and downing need to improve. I don't think i'm wrong in saying that nor is my view extreme in any way.

IMO i don't think he gives us anything more than Maxi or Bellamy would give us in that position. I'd rather see Hendo & Downing used for now, more sparingly as impact players.

I dont think Henderson is lacking much in terms of what he's in the team for. Try to remember he's just a kid too. And he isnt an 'impact' player either.

Downing hasnt exploded into life yet, but he provides something which we dont have otherwise and no, Maxi and Bellamy arent natural wingers, nor left sided, so wouldnt give us the same.

Think about it man. Why's Kenny playing Downing then?

You're making out he's been poor in what I gather as the majority of the games. If you can see that then Kenny would see that. Also if we have players on the books that can do a better job for Liverpool, you can be sure Kenny would be playing them. Liverpool always come first with him, always.
