He didn't make the comment himself, someone else did and he agreed, pissed himself laughing etc.
I hadn't realised that. It makes it all even more questionable to me.
It's interesting how Hodgson has treated Ferdinand, yet he has picked Terry for the Euros and now come out openly in support of him. I'm hesitant to draw any hard-and-fast conclusions but it certainly looks terrible.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
I think he was clear in his mind that Terry was a better player. Whether he would have had Ferdinand in the squad too is debatable.
Agree on surface it looks bad, but it's true the only squad members of that age were those expecting to play a big part - Ferdinand on merit certainly had no right to expect to do that, and getting younger players in reserve made sense from a development perspective. Once Ferdinand had shot his mouth off I don't think it mattered how many people got injured!

Ferdinand used to have a reputation as a cultured ball playing centre back, we all know that doesn't fit with what the Bodge wants
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
