. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
The Premier League is refusing to scrap its pre-match handshakes despite Chelsea's John Terry and Anton Ferdinand of QPR due to meet for the first time this season next weekend.

..........instead Terry will use his ankle injury as an excuse
Surprise Surprise ..................
The ankle injury that has ruled defender John Terry, 31, out of England's World Cup qualifier against Ukraine on Tuesday is threatening to keep him out of Chelsea's grudge match at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

EXCLUSIVE: Terry racism hearing date set by FA with delay down to panel choice
The FA will start John Terry’s racism hearing on September 24.
Officials at Wembley had hoped to deal with the matter sooner but there has been a delay in appointing the three-man Independent Regulatory Commission for what is an extremely sensitive case.
As Sportsmail revealed on Tuesday, the FA will not be asking former England captain Terry to submit his mobile phone records before he appears at the hearing into his alleged racist abuse of QPR’s Anton Ferdinand.
But it remains an extremely serious issue given that Terry has been charged by the FA with using ‘abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour’ towards Ferdinand last October, including ‘a reference to the ethnic origin and/or colour and/or race’.
The hearing will be held at a secret location and could run for two or three days.
Terry remains a doubt for Chelsea’s west London derby at QPR on Saturday, having yet to return to training after the ankle injury he suffered playing for England in Friday’s 5-0 win in Moldova.
Terry damaged his right ankle and withdrew from Roy Hodgson’s squad ahead of Tuesday night’s World Cup qualifier against Ukraine.
He was back at the Chelsea training ground on Tuesday but only for treatment. Terry, though, is keen to be fit to face a QPR team which could include Ferdinand — who trained on Tuesday, having recovered from the shoulder injury he sustained against Manchester City.
Terry’s Chelsea team-mate Ashley Cole is also struggling to be fit and has had further treatment. Cole also has an ankle injury, which he picked up in his club’s UEFA Super Cup defeat by Atletico Madrid, ruling him out of both World Cup qualifiers
Just said on SSN that QPR and Chelsea officials are 'locked in talks' about the handshake tomorrow.
This was in the Telegraph
Ferdinand does not intend to shake the hand of either Terry or Ashley Cole, who appeared as a character witness for his team-mate in the trial.
There is still no final decision, however, on how Ferdinand will approach the pre-match handshake and it is believed that QPR may ask the Premier League to cancel the gesture.
The handshake did not take place at all when the two teams met at Loftus Road in the FA Cup in January or before the Premier League match at Stamford Bridge in April.
The Premier League, however, remains reluctant to accept another request to completely abandon the handshake.
They should just sack off the whole sorry performance before the game. Its not about respect at all. Especially if they will drop it for different situations.

Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
Bound to be. And they'll hang Suarez out to dry again.
Although obviously Luis should shake Evra's hand this time...however much it'll stick in the throat.
He should give him a big 'ol bear hug, kiss him on both cheeks then whispers awooga in his ear before going out and tearing him apart for 90 minutes (plus time allocated for stoppages).
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
