Allen has done well recently but he does seem to really struggle vs any high tempo pressing.

They targeted him today. He never had an inch, they got right on top of him and he could never get turned and looking forward.

All of our players were targeted today. Some turned to porridge (Sterling, Lallana, Henderson, Moreno), others tried to fight their way out, Allen. In a bunch of poor performers he still was nowhere near the bottom of the list.

He isn't a player that influences games. Much like hendo, he's a cog. Trouble is when the machine is broken, the cog is unable to change the course of a game. Seems like a nice lad and I'd keep him in the squad. But just doesn't have the physicality to start games in centre midfield.
