Just watched the first half highlights.

He had 3 assists, Crouch put a header wide, Alonso just missed the far post and Finnan hit the crossbar

He also linked up very well with Finnan on a few occasions.

Pennant - Had a nightmare start to his Liverpool career, and has shown signs of late that he is improving. I'm very worried about his attitude though. He's continually coming out and talking about how "I've proved the doubters wrong" - bollocks! Say that when you've been instrumental in us winning a trophy. He needs to knuckle down and build on his last few performances ... if he does, then there is a place in the SQUAD for him.

I don't know about that , but in the same way people find it hard to criticise Gerrard for a poor/average game after so many good ones, I think Shaggy finds it hard to praise Pennant for a good game after so many average ones.

I agree with Shaggy

Pennant has been consistently poor. He puts a couple of good crosses in and scores a goal and suddenly he's a good player for us.

I mean "he even linked up with Finnan a couple of time"..........that does not make him a decent player - surely that is the bare minimum of what he should be doing.

The lad goes missing in games far too often and for too long. Whe he gets the ball I have absolutely no confidence that he is going to show some skill and take the ball past the defender. He just can't do that and I just don't see the point in a winger who can't beat defenders.

for an expert crosser of the ball, too many don't find a red shirt - that is his main attribute and so without that he really doesn't add anything to the team.

The arguement is moot (my favourite word at the moment) anyway because when Momo is back, Pennant will be dropped and Stevie will play on the right for the rest of the season. At the end of the season I reckon Rafa will sign a new right winger and that will be the end of Pennant.

I thought at the start of the season we should give him time to settle, but **** it, he's English and should be used to the EPL. And how old is he? 24? He should be doing the business by now!

I watched the game live and my comments were based on that. You then randomly throw in 'you should watch the first half again' as a lame argument (thinking that I couldn't, even though you can't either) so I went and did the next best thing.

It showed that the best 3 chances in the first half came directly from Pennant, when apparently he was ****e.

I've even looked through these posts you keep banging on about, and all I can find is Speedy ( ) and lfcsomething saying he should stay out wide more
