The point is he doesn't make Man U any better. They have a bit more depth but no big imporvement. Thats the difference between him being **** and not adding anythin new.

A bit like us having 3 great keepers last year, at least 1 was a waste of resource. Would us buying Buffon make us any better? Only in cases of injury and when fielding an intentionally weakened team.

I'll try and explain the Tevez / Macher transfer legalities as best i understand them, as there still seems to be a lot of confussion out there.

- The EPL did not want to ostracise West Ham/Tevez as they put more bums on seats than Shef U / Neil Warnock, so when they found out that the deals to bring them here were about as tight as Dale Wintons sphincter they had to do something

- While this was starting to be looked at, West Ham started trying to cover their arses. We got our deal through before the EPL acted with regard to the situation. I believe that Tevez would have gone on a similar deal if it could have been aranged quick enough, but

- EPL had to make changes to the laws to prevent it happening again, so the ability of West Ham to cancel Macher's registration, therby allowing us to loan him from MSI is not still available re Tevez because : West Ham have said they unilateraly terminated other agreements and on this the EPL fined West Ham rather than docked points AND allowed him to play the last games of the season. If they cancel his registration to facilitate a transfer they are not going to benefit from, it implies that 3rd party agreements are still in place.

- The important concept here is that all agreements with Kia/MSI were allegedly cancelled. And so any deal must be done with West Ham otherwise those deals were not really cancelled and therefore Tevez should have been ineligable last season and the whole "who gets relegated" debate is open again.

- So most money re Tevez must go to West Ham and they cant give most of it to MSI. West Ham / EPL dont want MSI getting paid as it pisses on their fireworks. Man U just want the player and it seems the player wants to go so they will happily push through the fact that unilateral agreement cancelling is illegal. MSI/Kia want the pay day.

- West Ham want to run down the 3 yr loan so then the problem goes away, when his registration reverts to MSI. Or they need MSI to relinquish their claims so Tevez can be sold and they keep the cash, but Tevez will only be signed by Man U if they can do a straight purchase of all rights and MSI will never agree to this, as its their final big payday on their Tevez investment.

So what will happen....

IMO : A court will decide that MSI have some rights. Though West Ham hold his registration, this coming out legally will force EPL to act or be sued by Shef Utd (+possibly others). The financial split of any Tevez deal (West Ham / MSI) will be established and that will facilitate Man U / Tevez being allowed to complete the deal. This will all be too late to reinstate Shef U, so they will sue for about £50mil and it will be settled out of court. A token EPL director will be asked to fall on his sword.

Different for keepers though, isnt it? You only play one keeper. If Rooney's off form for whatever reason, there's Tevez who's also likely/capable to/of produce something for them, whereas before it would've been Saha, or Smith, or Solskjaer. I know who i'd rather be facing. Surely strength in depth DOES make you better? Whatever way it's dressed up, Tevez is a class act and him signing for United is good news for them.

I very rarely understand people as well as i think, and you rarely (never) seemed to understand some of what happened at KT back then, largely due to the fact that it didnt go on right before your eyes. So, with all due respect, you're not in full possession of the facts, yet you've already made up your mind, which is silly IMO.

And i'm certainly not 'trying' to act anything around here, i just post as i find and find it sad that anyone would try to 'act' something on a website forum. But then, maybe you dont understand me as well as you think.

And IMO is a slight arrogance or being rude when there's some ambiguity or lack of clarity in how someone posts. I think i actually said 'so what if he doesnt add anything new'. And i stand by that. A Gerrard clone wouldnt add anything 'new' to our side, but we'd jump at the chance of having one, because he's simply a world class player and 2 of him would mean more of that type of quality. I dont think i actually accused anyone of calling Tevez ****.

And it was after i'd said 'so what if he doesnt add anything new, he is still brilliant' that the other guy decided he didnt want to continue the debate...
